Congrats on the IH pennies Chigg. That's one of my favorite coin designs. I love when they have that beautiful green patina. I dug an 1864 IH at a 1847 house about 15-20 years ago here in NC. It had the "L" on it for Longacre, and under closer investigation it was double stamped from the mint. Someone offered me $135 for it back then, so I took it. I wish I would have kept it now. Live and learn. I also dug my greatest find in that same yard. It was an "NC" confederate officers wreath type buckle. It turned out to be a "5" out of "5" as far as rarity. I sure miss those days.

The oysters have always been a delicacy in the Valley. They will keep better than crabs or gill fish. They didn't get really popular until the railroads though. When Skyland was in it's heyday as a private resort (1920's) fresh oysters and terrapin, along with all other manner of seafood and waterfowl were brought in by rail daily.

Hey Chigg here's the million dollar question --- why do US Americans call a cent a penny and where did the word penny come from. I was it a girl's name and someone said to her or about her - you are not worth one cent ,Penny not one.. Lol
