@M4xXxIkInGАй бұрын
im not gonna s*** on what he did since the idea is very very awesome , but theoretically it shouldnt be all that difficult from a technical pov. i dont know what kind of signal the throttle needs, my monkey brain would guess something like a PWM, so u trim the ton/toff timing of the PWM with the trigger and just transmitt it via radio waves to the engine ICU the way you do on actual RC cars. you will need to fit a reciever to the icu tho.
@erik_cruzАй бұрын
@@M4xXxIkInG You nailed it. Thats basically what I did in a nut shell. The RC receiver outputs a PWM signal that corresponds with the trigger position. I sent that output of the receiver to the ECU and had it translate duty cycle into a throttle position request and start request. And there you go, RC controlled P1

So cool Tavarish! Way to go my man! I’ve been watching you since you got started. You in part inspired me to do a full restoration on a 2000 BMW E39 M5 I bought 13 yrs ago. Started 3yrs ago. It’s a highly modified screamer now with a Partee Racing engine. I remember starting my fully rebuilt car for the first time a year ago with long tube headers and straight pipes on it. What an exciting moment that was. I can only imagine what it would’ve been like to do that with a P1. I hope to meet you one day, shake your hand, and talk some shop. I wish I had thought to put all of the automotive rabbit holes I went down on KZbin 20 years ago…. I was taking them apart and putting them back together one photo at a time on the forums. I have owned 9 different Z's since 1981. I still own a 240Z, which is a race car, and I have a 2003 350Z, which I have done a replacement engine on, as I blew the original, and did some bolt on upgrades. Still haven't had it on the dyno yet, as the exhause is somewhat too load for the road here. Please keep doing what you do, and as much as I love the very high end rebuilds, it would be cool to see some more average priced cars.
