I was in shock that he fired it up without changing the oil and removing that old fuel. 5 years is a really long time. Also, knowing that mice have been an issue, I wonder how much nesting debris he sucked into that engine! They love making nests and dragging all kinds of stuff into air boxes. 😳 In all honesty, I could have removed those compressors and tub within 20 minutes. Could have run some temporary lines too to get that thing off the ground. Sigh……. It’s tough for me caring about cars sometimes. I would have tried to talk him out of the start to be honest. Hope he didn’t burn up the top end or turbos. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m guessing that old oil being circulated (or lack of circulation) did some irreparable damage to that block. Detail guys shouldn’t be messing with stuff like that

Dude... I was thinking tge same thing about the oil AND the fuel left in thier despite it being full of gas instead of low but 5 years should make an impact on the stability of the gas!

if im starting a 10 year old car that has been sitting in the sun for that long what all should i do before starting it?

@@lyte561 a list of bare minimum stuff. Turn the engine by hand to ensure it’s free. Do NOT let that old gas reach the engine. Drain it off and clean that tank out and replace the fuel. For the time being just to get the car running, you can use a Jerry can. Also, definitely change out the oil and filter. Coolant should be looked at but can be left if you’re first step is to just see if it’s going to run (not let it get hot). Before firing it up you’ll also want to check the air filter(s). Mice love it in there and will definitely have a nest there. Clean all of that ducting out so you don’t suck stuff into the engine. Change plugs. Install a temporary oil pressure sensor and turn the engine over (coil disconnected so it won’t spark) and ensure oil pressure builds. Once that happens you’re good for a kick. Try and fire. That’s the basics.

@@surlycrosscheck1 thank you, I've been searching in google i couldn't find much info, so there's an audi r8 seized by the police since 2013, I may buy if the registration happens and i do have some knowledge on cars but never was confident of it. But in the country I live I consider myself very lucky

The car is going back to the client, he will be fixing the air ride suspension and than apparently getting the snow tires on and driving it this winter ❄️ Car is Probably worth in the range of $60K-$85K

You cats should NOT have started that without the oil and gas being changed or tested for stability!! That might explain the black smoke puffs and the smoke billowing out the bay

If I was the owner, I would have paid to get a full engine tune up, change all the fluids including that old gasoline. Airlines replaced with new ones and yeahhh. Then turn on the engine and rev it after engines been warmed enough! But whatever I guess you pay for that type of quality shit better start after 5 years 😂
