I'm an ex Muslim from Egypt, Throughout history when Islam was starting to spread in North Africa, Levant and Indian subcontinent people were forced to join Islam, if you are not a Muslim you either join Islam or pay a tax called "Jizyah" for being a non Muslim, that of course applies on Jews and Christians, if you're anything else you're banished or killed...and those Jews and Christians who agreed to pay the tax lived as second and third class citizens until today, racism and bigotry towards them is widely accepted by the Muslim majority, same Muslims who keep whining about some muslims being bigoted in some western countries by religious extremists So this whole "no compulsion in joining Islam" thing is major league bullshit

Amr H. Osman I am Jordanian and I think the Islamic rules is pretty fair because back then the Byzantine empire would treat the citizens there even worse, Islam at least isn't ra-cist because you can join and be my brother anytime but before that if you are born an Arab you would be treated as a second class, the Jizya isn't that much at all, according to tafsir al qortobi it is just for strong men who can pay it, so it is not for women, children, poor, si-ck people and priests, it doesn't have a certain number as some scholars like al shafai said the government is the one who put the number and some like al hanafee said for normal people 12 dirham and for the rich 48 and that was like an income of a mounth, also Muslims have to pay the zakat which is 2,5% of their income plus the zakat of al eid, which all are about 5% of your income not to mention if you joined the Muslim ar-my you don't have to pay it, and what second class mean? Non Muslims have almost the same rights except stuff like I can out greet you until you do that first and if there is a job I should take before you, also jizya can be taken from all of non Muslims yes al shafai, al hanafee and al hanbalee said but al Maliki and ibn taymiya said you can take it from all non Muslims except the ones in the Arabian peninsula

If I choose to leave Islam publically, or even speak against its ideas in the slightest, I will have the death penalty, even if I do it in private since anyone can accuse me of blasphemy. There is no choice in that. In the future, if I ever have children, they will be have to be Muslim on paper as well, otherwise I am still liable to punishment. There will be no choice in that. The "pandering itself as one of "peace"" is only really in the recent past. Islam was founded on war, built on war, and war is codified. But that was pretty much the state of things at that time. Islamists have for a long time proudly proclaimed their religion as one of strength, power, and militaristic might. The problem for them is that the modern world doesn't really like that warmongering attitude, so they had to do some PR.

I studied Islam as much as one can without going to an Islamic University. The worst part of Islam, is Islam itself. Muslims that have decency and moral fortitude try to separate the good from the bad (cognitive dissonance) but the reality is, it's all bad. Whatever isn't bad about Islam, most people in every culture and religion agree on. In fact, most of the good qualities of ikhlaq in Islam, came from pre Islamic culture. To use an "Islamic" principal; we judge a thing by it's whole. If the majority of a thing is bad, it is bad. If the majority of a thing is good, it is good. Just like the reason giving in the Quran to ban alcohol and gambling, there is some benefit in Islam, but the harm far outweighs the good.

I have a Pakistani coworker, who came to the US, for a better life. She and i speak quite often about our cultures (mine being Native American) and one of things that always stood out to me, is that to come to the US, she had to pay someone to smuggle her out, and trust, and pray, that they wouldn't just turn her over to her family, or the authorities because she would have been executed. She left Pakistan at age 13, yes, she stole money from her father, and paid someone to smuggle her out of the country at 13. why? Because she was due to be married to a man older than her father, on her 14th birthday. the thing that strikes me most about her life story however is that she doesn't actually blame her family. Why? Because only her father had control over this, and the rest of her family could have killed for protecting her. How the actual FUCK do we support this kind of shit? Here in the US, an 18 year old boy has sex with his 3 months younger, but still 17 year old girlfriend, and we throw his ass in prison. @Horner 37 Well, my father's an atheist and my mother believes in God and that's all there is to it really (religion is basically not practiced in the household). Ever since I was little I found the idea of God absolutely fascinating (got no idea where that came from). I found Christ to be one of the most amazing and wisest persons of the history (even if I were atheist I'd still think that) so there's basically that. As a kid I loved to read, and I still do, save for the lack of time. In any case, I've read the New Testament when I was 12 and here I am.

@Horner 37 The wisdom I saw in Christ was unparalleled. It may not convince you but it did convince me. I don't mind the contradictions - Bible is a huge book, written over a millennium, by different people. It is fairly coherent when that is taken into account.

Speaking as an exmuslim, I didn't _join_ Islam out of free will. The religion was imposed on me as a child by my parents, the society and the government of the country that I live in. I did, however, choose to leave Islam out of my own free will. It seems that these people are still confused about the meaning of choice and free will. It's understandable why, since they adhere to an ideology that hates individual freedom. Anyway, the dude is a caliphate supporter and probably a Hizb et Tahrir member. The kind of people that I avoid even during my Muslim days. Moderate Muslims are afraid of them not because they are violent (which they mostly aren't), but because they spout horrible ideological crap like the one in the video which they can't refute or dismiss because it's consistent with verses and passages from Quran and Hadiths.

@scottplumer36685 жыл бұрын
@@cimbomogi Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Christianity or Judaism specifically makes the "no compulsion" claim. There are several Christian denominations that wait until adulthood (or late teens) to baptize. Mennonites baptize no younger than 12, and the Amish wait until 18, though they do a "profession of faith" rather than an actual baptism. Of course, if one of those folks said "You know what? I'm gonna pass" when asked to profess their faith, their parents and fellow church members would lose their shit. So the compulsion is implied. That's why Christian kids are dragged to Sunday school (like I was), then expected to sit in church when old enough. It's the same for Islam. Kids are taken to mosque every Friday, etc. from a young age. At what point can a child (or adult) opt out without fear of consequences? It also bears pointing out that more secular societies tend to be far more successful by every measure (economically, quality of life, overall happiness, health outcomes, etc.) than more religious ones, regardless of the religion. I don't think that's directly related to their secularism, but is a by-product of it.

They start to argue but I ask counterquestions which usually shut them up here they are: I have been told that Jesus Christ is a prophet in islam is that true? Usually they say yes and try to argue around, Yes or No only! Do muslims follow the old testament? Is it part of their believe? Same deal as before, Yes or No only. When you start pointing out that making an enemy of jewish, and christians is not what their prophet wanted (according to text he had written himself and from his time), they point out that later it says otherwise. If that is the case either point out that it would mean that someone edited the records to make this so or that their texts of worship must be shizophren, that usualy shuts them up. I personally left the church and view religion as the great root of evil next to greed. My take on muslims (not all, but the more radical and conservative ones) seem to have a problem with respecting other peoples choices while they ask for every kind of protection and respect they deny others, sadly as I think...

As someone who aspires to be a philosopher this scares me as I don't know how people can twist my words to fit an agenda after I'm dead. @@queensomali2612 you said you studied the tasfeer but but the quranic verse you quoted is not only for bani isreal its general verse that applys to people of all times. Ill show you proof from the tasfeer of ibn katheer which is the most accepted tasfeer among muslims. that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind.) The Ayah states, whoever kills a soul without justification -- such as in retaliation for murder or for causing mischief on earth -- will be as if he has killed all mankind, because there is no difference between one life and another. ﴿ وَمَنۡ أَحۡيَاهَا ﴾ (and if anyone saved a life...) by preventing its blood from being shed and believing in its sanctity, then all people will have been saved from him, so, ﴿ فَڪَأَنَّمَآ أَحۡيَا ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعً۬اۚ ﴾ (it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind.) Al-A`mash and others said that Abu Salih said that Abu Hurayrah said, "I entered on `Uthman when he was under siege in his house and said, `I came to give you my support. Now, it is good to fight (defending you) O Leader of the Faithful!' He said, `O Abu Hurayrah! Does it please you that you kill all people, including me' I said, `No.' He said, `If you kill one man, it is as if you killed all people. Therefore, go back with my permission for you to leave. May you receive your reward and be saved from burden.' So I went back and did not fight.''' `Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbas said, "It is as Allah has stated, ﴿ مَن قَتَلَ نَفۡسَۢا بِغَيۡرِ نَفۡسٍ أَوۡ فَسَادٍ۬ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَڪَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعً۬ا وَمَنۡ أَحۡيَاهَا فَڪَأَنَّمَآ أَحۡيَا ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعً۬اۚ ﴾ (if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind.) Saving life in this case occurs by not killing a soul that Allah has forbidden. So this is the meaning of saving the life of all mankind, for whoever forbids killing a soul without justification, the lives of all people will be saved from him.'' Similar was said by Mujahid; ﴿ وَمَنۡ أَحۡيَاهَا ﴾ (And if anyone saved a life...) means, he refrains from killing a soul. Al-`Awfi reported that Ibn `Abbas said that Allah's statement, ﴿ فَڪَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعً۬ا ﴾ (it would be as if he killed all mankind. .) means, "Whoever kills one soul that Allah has forbidden killing, is just like he who kills all mankind.'' Sa`id bin Jubayr said, "He who allows himself to shed the blood of a Muslim, is like he who allows shedding the blood of all people. He who forbids shedding the blood of one Muslim, is like he who forbids shedding the blood of all people.'' Look how the companions who were most close to prophet pbuh understood this quranic verse. Not like you who is ignorant about islam. In addition, Ibn Jurayj said that Al-A`raj said that Mujahid commented on the Ayah, ﴿ فَڪَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعً۬ا ﴾ (it would be as if he killed all mankind,) "He who kills a believing soul intentionally, Allah makes the Fire of Hell his abode, He will become angry with him, and curse him, and has prepared a tremendous punishment for him, equal to if he had killed all people, his punishment will still be the same.'' Ibn Jurayj said that Mujahid said that the Ayah, ﴿ وَمَنۡ أَحۡيَاهَا فَڪَأَنَّمَآ أَحۡيَا ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعً۬اۚ ﴾ (and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind.) means, "He who does not kill anyone, then the lives of people are safe from him. You clearly were an ignorant Muslim and didnt study you own religion properly before you left it. May Allah guide you back to islam.

@@timeread3099 So you brought Ibn Katheer's Interpretation claiming he's the most accepted one while ignoring all the other interpreters like Mohammed Ibn Jariir Al-Tabari or AlQurtubi? Do you know that people of ta'aweel (Interpretation) had disagreed about this verse? And without the need to brainstorm our brains it's obviously clear that the verse was for Bani Israel only. By the way if it was general why didn't Allah make it clear? Actually I'm not an ignorant of Islam since I know other interpreters unlike you. moreover, the hadeeths I mentioned tell a lot about how much I know. [Look how the companions who were most close to prophet pbuh understood this quranic verse. Not like you who is ignorant about islam.] Yep yep just by seeing all those bunch of suggested interpretations make it clear that they understood it very very well.

@@queensomali2612 i gave you ibbn abass interpateration which is better than qurtbi, tabari and ibn kather that is why ibn kathher quoted him from a the hadeeth because he was known to be the most knowledge and was able of the quran and he was direct companion of the prophet and learned from him. That is why prophet himself asked god to bless ibn abbas with the knowledege and understanding of the quran . Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) was very smart and intelligent, and he loved knowledge and sought it, striving to attain it by all means. He was passionate about knowledge and sought it from a very early age. This is in addition to the supplication of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who prayed for Allah to grant him a deep understanding of the faith and to teach him the interpretation of the Qur’an, as Ahmad (2393) narrated from him that he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “O Allah, grant him a deep understanding of the faith and teach him the interpretation of the Qur’an.” It was also narrated by al-Bukhaari (75, 143) and Muslim (2477). Reason why ibn katheer took ibn abbases interpretation on that verse Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Many of the Sahaabah learned from him, as did many of the Taabi‘een, and he showed great initiative that was unmatched by any of the other Sahaabah, because of his vast knowledge, deep understanding, mature thinking, great virtue, and noble origin, may Allah be pleased with him and make him pleased. He accompanied the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), stayed close to him, learned from him, memorised the Sunnah, and memorised with precision the Prophet’s words and deeds and events surrounding him. He acquired a great deal of knowledge from the Sahaabah, in addition to his own deep understanding, eloquence, handsome looks, noble origin and ability to express himself. The Messenger of the Most Gracious (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) offered supplication for him, as was narrated in well-proven hadiths, according to which the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) offered supplication for him, that Allah would teach him the interpretation of the Qur’an and grant him deep understanding of the religion. Amr ibn Habashi said: I asked Ibn ‘Umar about a verse and he said: Go to Ibn ‘Abbaas and ask him, for he is the most knowledgeable among those who are left of what Allah, may He be exalted, revealed to Muhammad. Umar ibn khattab the second caliph and 2nd most righteous man among muslims after abu bakr himself acknowledged ibn Abbas superiority in knowledge of the quran. The companions of the prophet agreed upon on this interpretations of the Qur'an. They didn't differ so don't lie just because some scholars 100 years later did. You are showing your ignorance once again on quranic understanding
