Tristan two major things I enjoy about your channel, first of all you are a well educated man who speaks in full sentences. I would guess a graduate of BYU. The second is how you research your destination and the history associated with the location. I enjoy every destination.

Great video of this cool site, luckily you had some dude’s picture to find the location😊! Took that dude only three times to find the bones, the third time it was a hot evening, over 110F. Too bad the tooth is gone, hence the need to be cryptic about the location. The Fossil point sign and Shelter is relatively new, but helps finding the fossil bones, it was tough to start with no clue where to look. Well there is actually a clue, but I figured it out only afterwards….

Inspired by Tristan and SUV RVing i purchased a 2023 Sportage SUV, foam bed and camped out at lake J.B. Thomas in Texas, near our grand daughter and great grandson. It was wonderful, beach parking there were people, music, laughter, a boat and a jet ski. Later i lay in bed watching the Sunset. Motel wanted 90 dollars, i paid 5 😊 Thank you Tristan.

I just got home from visiting Canyonlands this weekend (around Anticline & Needles overlooks as well as the Needles district). My takeaway from every trip to that region is there's always going to be more to see and it never gets old. Now I want to go back and see the spots in this video!

In the first area, the layers of sandstone are Jurassic formation, laid down around 100 million years ago when that area was a very shallow inland sea. It is so cool that you got to explore the area..

Thoroughly enjoyed this one! These are points we explored 45 years ago that I'd forgotten about. Only a few instamatic camera photos to prove it. My then 4 year old son called the San Rafael River the Brown River, and was completely bored with the area and wanted to get home to Moab to ride his Big Wheel. Pretty cool to be able to see those dino bones in situ! Wow Another cool thing to see near Green River: Crystal Geyser (one of only a few COLD water geysers), and if you don't catch it gushing, the travertine plateau around it (on the Green River bank), is pretty cool too :-)

Hi Tristan, I can see the La Sal mountains from here as I write this. We can also see Fisher towers and the Priest and Nuns. Yup, we took your lead and camped about a mile above Dome Plateau overlook. Tomorrow I expect to sneak in to arches and see Delicate Arch. But you probably know there are some other arches around here such as La Boca arch. Thanks for all your beta.

I enjoy watching your videos. You are teaching me a lot. I am Native so especially like seeing the paintings on the rocks. I’ve never seen one at all. I am in Western Nevada and I heard there were some paintings around my area but never seen. I’ve also heard from ancestors that there were petrified dinosaurs in the area. @@SUVRVing am 50 miles from Carson City and 70miles from Reno southeast. I know there are some rock art south of me about 30 miles on a ranch I lived on when I was growing up. My cousin knows where but never took me there.

Has me remembering my first encounter with the big dinosaur skeleton(formerly known as a Brontosaurus) in the Museum of Natural History in NYC - I was 9years old and decided I wanted to be a paleontologist! I did not end up in that field of work but my fascination with dinosaurs has never waned. This will definitely go on my future road lists list!

I know right where you are. There used to be a lot more just scattered all over that place. But you know what happens, plus the university came in and excavated dozens of full skeletons. You used to go out there and find rock piles that the locals had put on top of rib cages and skulls sticking out of the ground to try and hide them. We always carefully exposed and then covered them back up. I remember seeing a giant bone sticking straight out of the cliff side, kind of like what you found. There were even gizzard stones laying around. Sadly most of that is all gone. Its either in someone's house or locked up in a museum.

I was just a the "Great Gallery" in March. Had it all to myself. The day I drove to the trailhead, it had been raining/snowing. I have a 4Runner, when I got there the conditions were so bad, decided to disperse camp in vehicle and try the next day. That too was a terrible day and I was the only vehicle at the site. I drove from Atlanta, on the road for 6 weeks checking sites from California on, weather permitting. I risked it and made it to the 4 sites in the canyon. The markers were not that great and I got nervous. Once in the canyon, it was ok from the weather other than rain, no wind. All said and done, one of the most magical adventures. The adrenalin from the weather and being alone was intense. I would not recommend doing that alone in the conditions. No signal there, spotty occasionally. Your videos are good, wish I could do it full time/living. I had to tell myself, cannot see everything on this trip in order to just relax and enjoy where I was. I got the line I think from one of your videos.

Yes, it could. The worst road was the side road that led to the Green River overlook. Depending on how much clearance the van has, that one could be an issue. But the main road through the area is good.
