ROB,, That's not a Siren or an Eel,, It's a Two-Toed Amphiuma,, They make great pets & eat like crazy,, BUT,, You should be aware that they can not only give a pretty bad bite,, But it also is very likely to give you a nasty infection..There are 2 different types of Amphiuma's in Florida,, I would suggest looking them up..I have had several as pets,, But I always kept mine in a tank by themselves.

Get you a dog lead.. a thick dog leash like 10 ft long.. and use a D ring to attach the lead to your bucket so you can toss it into the water to get ur keeper bucket water.. safer and easy.. when ur done just unclip it from your bucket.
