Here’s the thing, time dilation by solving higher doesn’t change your time that much. Even if you’re hundreds of feet higher than the timer, your solve woulf probably be like 0.000000001 faster anyway

I’ve been saying this for a long time, and never seen anyone else talking about it. Solve height 100% matters. If you look closely at US Nats footage, some cubers brought their own cushions. I have my best solve times when I hold the cube in my lap. That’s where physical turning and view of the cube are maximized
@STUCUBE

Ikr, almost no one talks about this and it is very important to maximize results in comp. I feel like chair height is a very important factor in how well I do officially

Yeah I’ve definitely competed at venues with really low sitting chairs that make it harder to solve, so this may be a viable option

Can you continue doing this experiment because it's very interesting. I think that huge part of the difference just comes down to how warmed upp you are. At least for me my first 10ish solves are worse than what i usually average. so you should do like day 1 and 3 you start with normal solves and on day 2 and 4 you start by doing elevated solves. Also after a longer time and larger amount of solves you can really find out if there is any difference. Also asking other people to do the same or doing it with other events would prove you're theory. But all in all fun and a good vid. Continue make these bangers😊😊
@STUCUBE
@STUCUBE Жыл бұрын
All of this would be very useful for the experiment, and I as well think there needs to be a larger sample size for better results. Maybe sometime in the future I’ll do this experiment again but more refined. Thanks!
@Chrnan6710

You should repeat the experiment some time in the future, but do a standing average before a sitting one. Could you have simply been warmed up by the sitting average for your standing average?

I'm gonna try this as a tiny person whose elbows are lower than the table (I'm 5'3" and look up to every guy I talk to 💀) also in the description it says 3bld attempt at 6:14 ????? Ok so I just tried it, here's the results: Warmup ao5: (18.01) 23.74 30.65 31.90 (51.45) = 28.76 (I popped an edge on 4 out of 5 attempts 😭) Sitting ao5: (23.47) 25.05 26.24 26.69 (26.76) = 25.99 (all solves are sub-30 which is rare for me, usually at least one is like 32s) Standing ao5: (26.48) 27.43 31.38 33.57 (35.80) = 30.79 (somehow the standing ao5 is slower than the sitting AND warmup ao5 HAHA) I did feel faster turning/recognition in the standing ao5 though, but I got really unlucky with the PLLs since I only know 11 and I got G perms on 3 of them so I had to do 2-look HAHAHA but with the sitting ao5, I got U-perms and J-perms for 4/5 solves which I know already From my own experiment, the results are unclear because there's a discrepancy in the PLL part (using 1-look for most of sitting ao5 but 2-look for most of standing ao5) Conclusion: learn 1-look pll hehe
