If you like to find diamonds, I know 2 tricks to find it. 1: look of a lava pit, then look everywhere then you will find diamonds. 2: look for a cave or a ravine.

The reason Jelly found a main land because the creator used world edit and removed land under the sky block only to a certain limit. No creator would expect anyone to go so far to find main land.
