It's a cultural thing and can get annoying, but while many people will refuse payment, you've got to basically fight to do it (3x minimum). It's just what you do... Also, don't show too much interest in peoples stuff because they'll offer it to you even if they don't actually want you to take it! Took me awhile to adjust. Love your videos, still sad you didn't make it to Oaxaca city. Maybe one day!
@EllisWR8 ай бұрын
@@adampe-1440 Yeah we always offer a few times, we've learnt to read who means it and who doesn't. As guests most of the time in our experience they actually want to gift us the things though and won't take money.

Everyone is welcome here in Iraq .. you’ll find real generosity and hospitality. A comment for those who always ask about whether Iraq is safe or not: travelling is for the brave, not for the coward. You have seen the videos of globe trotters here in this channel or elsewhere. Iraq is just like any other country, full of history and traditions as well as hospitable locals like Abbas. Once you visit Iraq, you’ll find another time to pay a revisit cuz you won’t be able to experience everything in one single trip.

When I was a kid back in the 90s me and my friends used to leave the school to go and pick up some of these little fruits to snack on them. The one you ate is not ripe though you need to eat the ripe version of it to experience the full real flavor.I left my home country in 2007 and I miss it a lot.
