I love the windows on the first one- just not on ground level. If it were up a few floors, the windows would be great. On this level, it just makes it easy for the creeper- or general public, to spy on you. Otherwise a great place. The second is super massive! I love all the space. The 2 bedrooms are super squishy & were obviously chopped into 2 to be able to charge more rent. I’d rather have one big room over two small ones every day. This one is also on a lower level, but it is a townhouse & the windows make sense. I love that both have laundry in unit & that prices seem great for what you get. These were 2 good finds that will prolly go fast! Great job Cash! I hope you see this comment..I missed out on the past 7 videos. I know you are busy- I hope its a good busy!

Cash has done some rent stabilized options. The only way to obtain a rent controlled apartment is to be a qualifying family member who would succeed a tenant who had a rent controlled apartment. So basically, rent controlled apartments are not on the market. There are other rent regulated apartments like Mitchell-Lama and HDPs housing connect list, but these aren’t rent controlled apartment.

@EastSide-qc5oy
@EastSide-qc5oy 2 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to know for sure if an apartment in NYC is rent-stabilized unless it is advertised as such and that is not always the case. There are ways to look them up in city records but it is a cumbersome process and the quicker ways are not always accurate, and while you are trying to find out before you commit, someone might rent it out from under you. I didn’t find out an apartment I rented once was Rent Stab until I actually signed the lease and saw the rider. Brokers don’t always know the status when they are showing. Sometimes it is literally a crapshoot.

The first one is a polar opposite to yesterday's apartments. It may not be in a "happening" neighborhood or close to Manhattan schools or employment, but it offers everything for a mature lifestyle. The second apartment would work well for a family because of all the living space. Does that space heater suggest that some rooms are chilly in winter? For both units, the distance to Astoria's transit line would be important for commuters.
@barbaramuzychka3836

Astoria is a "happening" neighborhood, as Cash Jordan makes it his home and he, alone makes things happen. The second apt is just four short blocks to the El. and it takes at the most a half an hour to get to work or school in Manhattan. Maybe the heater was there because they are in the process of installing a new furnace and there is no central heat right now.

Why does $3600 for a 3 bedroom sound like a bargain to me?
@Pintexx

That second apartment is a steal and I’d definitely buy it with roommates. The only downside is the 1 bathroom but you can easily solve that problem by not eating Taco Bell or chipotle and instead buying your own vegetables and making your own food 🤣

1st apt good lord rent it! Right now! A family needs to grab apt #2, 5 minutes ago! Two winners. Beats the heck out of a few other recent disappointments. Congrats to whomever gets these!

First apartment I could potentially afford! I'm interested to know what the average income is as it seems like most apartments would require roommates.

Yay, Astoria places! The first one looks great, though a 1bd for $2350 there is... ehhh. Love the second place, though a deeper bathtub would probably be nice lol, and would def help me out for a roomie situation if I get to moving out sometime soon. Definitely better than yesterday's... situations.

I loved the big eat in kitchen of the second flat, but it is old and dated as is everything else. Not thrilled with the views out of the windows either.

Second place was nice, but what was up with that "sneaker closet?" Did anyone else notice it had stairs going down to the ground level to what might be a retail space? Is the ground level connected to the apartment via that closet and stairs?

It could be a basement too? Great if it's part of the rent, scary if it's a different unit.

I thought it was a retail space too. Wish we could have seen the entire closet to discover what’s beyond those stairs.

I loved the first apt. I wish I could afford it. The second apt was nice & then the bathroom killed it. That tub was awful & so was the sink.

The second flat needed a major overhaul. The kitchen could be great with all that space and the bathroom is definitely a total strip out.

I'm old and lived in Astoria back in the late 90's and, honestly, both of those apartments blew my mind. I was on the 2nd floor of a 3-story walk-up. The rent on the apartment I was in was a little over a thousand for what was (technically) two bedrooms (again, late 90's), but it wasn't nearly as nice as either of these and was easily the same size as the first apartment.

If the first apartment is considered a Micro Apartment, that's great! I always thought of Micro Apartments as shoeboxes, but that one is a nice size. The second apartment is just delightful. Thanks for all the uploads, Cash!

2,300 for one bedroom! I know it's NY, where I would never consider that, but I'm comfortable in my newly renovated 2 bedroom apartment for 441.00 a month. Four hundred and forty one dollars! And we have police officers that aren't being forced to quit. Love your videos cash.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏🙏💚😘

Thanks Cash for showing something in Astoria. Fantastic area in Queens with bars, cafes and restaurants galore. Shopping and lots of bakeries too. My accountant is on 23rd rd and 28th street. Still use her even though I'm in Tampa.
