You follow the rules to the T like a robot. This is the problem with most students who live and die by "perfection". Schools and companies that recruit from them want someone with a human personality. Being a yes man/woman will only get you so far in life. Companies that recruit students after college want innovation. Add some personality and creativity to how you think and operate and it will take you farther than you could ever dream. You may even decide to walk a different path in life that will be more exciting and productive for yourself and society.

What profile would you say Columbia University looks for? I aim to fall into the third profile, but I'm not sure if Columbia, my dream school, takes much notice of that.
@paige1521 Жыл бұрын
Your depiction of three distinct profiles appears somewhat incongruous with the aspirations of students venturing beyond the realms of STEM, business, or politics. Harvard boasts a renowned legacy in nurturing influential political figures, yet it equally stands as a bastion for exceptional history programs and holds a prestigious position for the study of English. I understand you cannot accommodate everyone in such a short, snappy video, however, the absence of representation for the humanities feels somewhat myopic. It feels conformist to assign such a narrow interest profile or typical student to a relatively large school with many subsections to its culture. Good video if you do match the description of those supposed school profiles, so I commend your efforts regardless. Just something to keep in mind.
@wamyy5 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree! I think that the profiles was just to be a visual, simplistic representation and for those who are interested in English, arts, etc., the ideas still stand that we want to show Harvard we're someone who cares about helping others and making a social impact!
@mikeymyke Жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter how nuanced you make it sound as to why you're rejected, the uncomfortable truth is, you were rejected because you're Asian. Harvard is a woke university and supports affirmative action. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but it happens to a lot of Asian students especially. I'm Asian myself, and I'm proud (and I'm sure you are too) of the achievements we've made academically and our contributions to our surrounding communities. Being rejected by these overpriced institutions is more a badge of honor than anything. If you don't believe that a prestigious university would do something as terrible as rejecting someone because of your race, well look at Stanford as well, you got rejected there too! A perfect student got rejected by the top 2 schools in the country. Is that a coincidence? It's not, because they both rejected you because of who you are, and that goes against the very thing that's central to America's identity
