As a child I would spend weekends at my Dad’s house. He was a jeweller and I would love going through all of his catalogs. I knew the names of all the gems and the month they represent. The earrings do look like Citrine they are November birthstones along with Topaz.

I have a Presidium gem tester for gemstones. Turquoise is something you just have to learn, find places where you can be assured it is being sold accurately then compare the look feel going forward.
