i think its the balance of citruese with Pettigrain like Neroli. its a citrus and floral . very evocative. not silly , very uplifting John Varvatos Artisan Pure. you know when it was introduced it commanded high end designer prices. this one and Artisan were high quality then and high quality now. plus the bottle design is singular and as memorable as the scent. really setthe bar for citrus florals to come after. so great.

To me, Artisan Pure is the modernized alternative to something like Sung Homme or even Artisan Aqua from the same line. Take out the harsh greens from Aqua, add some iris and a woody-amber-vetiver base and that's basically it. Definitely glad they decided to make it in a bigger bottle. Although the atomizer could've been better. Mine doesn't spray out a ton of juice. Not an issue since I always carry around a decant. Really lovely opening and mid.

Interesting. I did not know you were fond of Dior Homme Original. Wasn't sure that I ever heard talk about it before, with all of your love for the DH 2020 version. It is an absolute masterpiece, and I am glad Original is still out there today. Maybe one of the best fragrances ever, and I will get my hands on it again. Plus, I have loved its bottle since day one; elegant and modern. The cinematic shot of the Burger King was a funny addition, too.
