Just finished my hardest case yet, in a very large city, and it was awesome. A murder. The murderer left no fingerprints anywhere, no murder weapon and the neighbours didn't hear or see anything. I tried just fallowing whatever the victim did in her daily life, but found nothing. Then after a while i noticed a camera in the apartment, but never found the PC that controls it, however, i did find a pc that controlled the camera in the corridoor one floor below. And a few min after the murder, a man walked down the stairs. I began trying to find this man. Didn't take long until i got his address as he had been seen and was even known to the other tenants. I thought he was the killer, but no, he just lived one floor above the victim, but he had been walking past the scene, so i asked him if he noticed anything off, and surely he did. He had seen a person with short green hair hair, and that was enough. I later confirmed the sighting by speaking to others i found on the camera, they all said the same. I quickly went back to the victims workplace, the only place she went to besides her apartment where i scoured through the employee photos. This was my last hope of ever finding this monster, and yes, the last photo was a lady with short green hair hair. Hunted her down and found her place. Despite not having anything to connect her to the scene, or a murder weapon, she admitted to have been there the night of the murder. I arrested her and got the victory. Sadly i never could connect her to the scene or find the murder weapon, she was so clean, so proffessional in her craft, but she never planned for the neighbour upstairs to take a walk.

Ive found a few things that arent explicitly told to you through the tutorial. 1. All payphones have a call logs box that tell you recent calls made. 2. Finding out who gives you the job can help you narrow down who your looking for as all targets usually have a connection to the client. BE CAREFUL OF MIDDLEMEN. 3. You can scan items in your inventory for fingerprints. This will help with finding out the client. 4. There are cctv cameras in the streets as well with access panels below them. 5. Every building has an employee and resident list on file somewhere. You can search them on a computer or look in filing cabinets to find them. Resident filings dont have every single resident just the primary resident usually. 6. You can sell high value items by placing them in your apartment and ipening your edit decor menu, opening the items menu on the right and finding the item in the room tab at the top. Diamonds sell for around 800 to 1000 each usually.

I had quite the dumb killer myself, I was investigating a murder in a business, had a prime suspect that worked there with matching prints I found near the body. While looking around for a password to get access to the cameras, I realize an employee was working...it was my prime suspect and he still had the murder weapon on him. It was quite the fast case lol

There are multiple kinds of vandalism, and it will sometimes specify which kind you need in the objective thing in the upper right. The one that you couldn't complete wanted you to cause vandalism by leaving trash, which for some reason doesn't count spilling their synth-milk everywhere. The one that wants trash usually requires less of a damage value in crows because trash isn't worth much.

If I remember correctly it specifically said bringing in trash from outside. The milk was already in the apartment which is why it didnt work.

The chicken house... So much like an interior décor that used to be popular in southern US, kitchens especially. Just country chickens everywhere. Prints, patterns, statues, utensils, figurines and fixtures... as if the goal was to impress guests by how many chickens had taken over the household. It was often paired with apples and cross stitching that said stuff like "Bless This Mess."

imagine a cat and mouse co-op game, 1 person is the detective, and the other is the criminal, the criminal plays a random civ and goes about commiting crimes, and has to hide their tracks as best as possible while the detective has to find their identity and hunt them down

1:39:05 one thing you need to make sure to do is pin key locations for certain objectives to trigger. For instance you need the targets address pinned for the game to recognize that youve found the right home so it can check for the damages done.

Had a weird murder case as well. Had to break into a crime scene through another apartment's vents. I knocked and rushed passed the other apartments owner a few times. In the end, the other guy, who I ran passed, was the actual murderer... o_O

Trying to do a playthrough where I DON'T commit crime. It is unsurprisingly hard. HELP ME FIND YOUR HUSBAND'S KILLER, LADY. Edit: - You can sit in the booths at the diners and order off of the menu. Just... fyi. - There's also a ... 'public' government records cruncher. Either on the first floor, right door from reception in City Hall or the second floor, first door on the left.

Yeah, I kinda wish they made partners/roommates of murder victims more willing to help or seeking help, considering you are trying to find the killer. Or at least make it more believable why they aren't helping, like they're heartbroken or something instead of just "none of your business" and just leaves the dead person on the floor and leaves ^^"

Really love watching you play this game, I bought it after you uploaded your first vid on it and it's been so much fun. Also at 1:45:20 you wished there was a quick way to find your way home, there is actually a way. When you open the city map in the upper left corner of the map is 3 buttons, the middle button will open a folder for your house that you can then follow. Hope this helps :)

Yes, this game is a rabbit hole of divergent ways you can gleam patterns of useful information from a seemingly endless sea of noise. Unraveling the whole sweater, so to speak, from a few loose ends.

Personally, I think the system for "stolen objects" would depend on everything you do to get it +chance. For instance, making sure your shoes are clean and wearing gloves both can make your chance of getting caught 0%. Gloves makes it almost impossible for your prints to be on it so long as it isn't used often but footprints will be left the longer you go without wiping your feet and something on that shouldn't be would all eventually add up to them knowing they were robbed, which could lead them to finding out where it ended up and who sold it, fine-ing you for triple what it was worth (a portion going back to the store and double back to the victim).

this game is truly what I was looking for in a game. I love Phasmophobia for the "detective" work finding evidence, and all that, and the replayability of it being different everytime is amazing. After I played Phas I was HOPING for a game like that but for crime instead of paranormal activities. I can't wait to watch this game grow and develop, the new murder types, and technologies used to find more evidence!

The vandalism quests have a caveat to them. You succeeded this time and not last time because this quest wanted $800 in damage via smashing windows and your last quest wanted $x amount via trash brought into the house

I rolled a Normal difficulty playthrough in New Amsterdam and from what I can tell the city layout and street/house names and addresses are identical, but businesses and citizens seem to not have the same names between our playthroughs.

Not just serial killers btw, if you take too long to solve a case, the killer will actually tie up loose ends, my partner was playing and one of the witnesses got killed by the original killer before he managed to speak to him.

Now you may have figured this out by the end of the video, but as far as searching people by apartment building, every apartment should have a security office (and it won’t always be occupied). These offices should have a computer you can search by resident name (if you know the name to search), alternatively they should also have a filing cabinet. One drawer should contain resident files and another drawer should contain employee info.

I got a lipstick killer case myself. It was a man named Afonso. Issue is, he was a cop. So the game couldn't make him the killer. However his name was on the wall, the dating profile linked to him on the computer (name, and description). Found Afonso using the gov database, found his address and his fingerprint was entirely incorrect. So even though ALL THE EVIDENCE pointed to Afonso, the game just couldn't make afonso the killer due to his job and thus literally broke the entire murder case since there was 0 evidence to actually find the real killer. Mind you, I checked through their address book with all the names and not a single person in that address book had a matching fingerprint, job had nothing either, apartment had nothing and the game didn't even generate a dating profile for afonso on his computer! It literally just bugged out and generated an entirely impossible case simply because cops aren't supposed to be killers, but this one was. I even arrested afonso and the game said it was wrong, forced me to reset the entire map and start over :(

when doing side quests with people who give u the case u have to k.o. them once, or they would sit at this bench or cafe forever (only this scenario, seeking case somewhere or getting it from photo not included in that) find yourself a rifle, it's pretty useful for fighting people I enjoy your playthrough so much

I've been playing this game a ton recently (it's super fun) and I finally discovered that the lag and stutters do partly have to do with the board getting big, but they mainly come from the fact that this game has forced ray tracing, meaning you can't disable it even on GPUs that technically don't support it, and since it doesn't have DLSS or FSR, that means that even high end computers will struggle to run it smoothly.

Here's a few tips; All book cases have quite a few books you can pull out and get money from reading with your perk. Also you can pick locks in front of cameras with the lights off and they won't detect you, Just find the nearest lightswitch. You can see all the passwords you know in the tab you use to search locations to find your own password.

I started a new medium sized world recently. Played the dead of night starting mission, and while escaping from the enforcers through the vents happened to, without realizing it, enter the murderer's house and immediately found them.

I had a case where I was given only a person's build, the first letter of their name and their hobby. I thought it would be impossible. I had found addresses of all the people whose name started with a letter A (42 people!!!), sorted them out by the building, come to their places, knocked at their doors going from floor to floor and asked for their name if they had a build that I needed. Actually, that was very fast, and I was lucky to find the person in the very first building I checked😂

I had an arrest case where the target gave me her name, allowed me to take her fingerprints, and let me look around her house without any bribery. She was the sweetest lady, I swear she was two seconds away from offering me cookies but I screwed it up by cuffing her in her living room. 😭😭 I felt so bad about it!

About vandalism - you need to read more carefully. Vandalism has TYPES. Previously you had to do 100 credits of damage by putting trash there, but you were breaking windows. Now you had to break windows
