I lived there for 10 years it was beautiful, it was living on Mars in a way it became mostly abandoned after 2008 everyone lost their homes and the Ritz closed up and then became The Ravella, staying there was like having a Ritz Carlton all to yourself. It was the most peaceful, stunning beautiful places ever to live, the scenery is so still it looks like a painting. Kids took golf and paddleboard camp, Sonrisa Grill. Hope someone buys the hotel and makes it great again, a Chinese mob guy owns it and they won't give him a gambling License to open the casino.

I stayed at the Hilton a number of years ago. At the time the whole Lake Las Vegas area was definitely in decline. Very few restaurants and shops open and the place was very deserted. I'm glad to see it has come back to life as I agree it is a beautiful area and so different than the rest of the Vegas area!

Hey Pompsie, I stayed at the Westin Lake Las Vegas for a week a few years ago, after spending my first week at the Westgate by the Convention Center. I had always wanted to try it, and was very glad I went! Loved going out on the patio with the Turtles for drinks and appetizers at the end of the day, and thought both pools were awesome. I enjoyed gambling and seeing the casinos in Henderson also. I am hoping to go back again next spring....Glad you you and Greta enjoyed it too :)

Ooooooo!! I’m so glad you went to Lake Las Vegas, Pompsie… it’s one of the places I’m going to visit when we come to LV again in December. Hubby and I are always looking for different spots to drive to and this will definitely be on the list! I know the area has had good times and bad times and it’s nice to see that the resort has settled down with a good vibe. You were mentioning past videos and I remember seeing one quite a while ago of someone on the lake using A small boat or kayak… And the place really look like a wreck! It was quite sad because I know it had great aspirations when it was originally built. One of my favorite movies “America’s Sweethearts” was filmed there with John Cusack, Julia Roberts, Billy Crystal, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Chris Walken….and it’s about making movies! Which you might find fun…and is just funny and happy and quirky…highly recommend for an in-house date night! Love you guys…Hi, Greta!! - you look so nice in your golden yellow sweater!

When I transferred to Las Vegas, I stayed in a condo at Lake Las Vegas for a month. The vibe is the anti-Vegas (in a good way). Friday’s at the village were great…lots of life. The other times- you’d think it was abandoned, rarely seeing human life (I actually came across some coyotes or wolves while walking my dog). If they could just figure a way to get the village pumping with life, more often it would be perfect.

I went to Lake Las Vegas on July 4 of this year. It was very disappointing. Most of the houses in the area are empty. Multiple people have moved out. Some of the areas aren’t even finished yet when they’ve been sitting there for years. The main village had three restaurants and only one was open, a nice Mexican restaurant. And it was packed and it had great food and great service. There was not that many people out on the lake. And I went there at 1 o’clock on July 4. It was very disappointing and sad. I wish it was more crowded and more popular and I hope it gets to that one day again.

We LOVED staying there! I think we used Air B&B and had a lake-view balcony suite in the main building. I love Lake Las Vegas. It’s in between Henderson and Boulder City. Most people in Henderson know about the area and visit frequently. It’s modeled after a Tuscan Village. It was an up and coming area and was going to rival Green Valley District Area except that since not close to major Highway and too far from McCarran Airport not enough tourists went there. Lots of locals have gone there for stay cations. Including myself. A few years ago the area was going through bankruptcy and wAs struggling to stay alive. It’s not very busy there during week days but gets more foot traffic on weekends. Those apartments you talked about are time shares. You didn’t show the restaurants and the activities you can do there. They also had supper cruises on the lake. After CoVid I don’t know how they are doing to stay alive. Andrea Bocelli did a concert there around 2006 maybe? Celine Dion owns a house there. Many famous artists that have shows in Vegas own houses there.

She still lives there. When she started her tour (which is now not a tour because of Covid) she had started a new home (probably more a mansion) construction. I read that online when all artists were cancelling their tours and going home. Maybe she has 2 homes there? Or one is sold and new one is done? No idea, because construction was considered "essential business" so construction nationwide continued on through quarantine and it has been almost 2 years. She is probably moved into her new mansion by now.

Went there a few times in 2002 2003 when it was the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort, Spa and Casino. I swear we were pulling rooms off Priceline for under $19.00 it was so crazy. The Casino was a hoot seems just one dealer and he would bounce from the roulette wheel, to the blackjack table, to the craps table. Place was so dead was sorry to hear it went into default and might be working on its 4th hotel name change by now. Played 3 or 4 rounds of golf at Reflection Bay and what a super course. I recall they have a mixed pro tournament that was featured on a major channel some sort of doubles event. Yes people would point out Celina Dion's house across the lake and i think some time Andree Bonicili played a concert there. Think next time we will need to go back one more time.

Went there many times from 2005 to 2013. I inspected a lot of homes around Lake LV as a Building inspector there in the Valley. It has never taken off. Its so beautiful yet so under used. The Casino has changed hands so many times. When it first opened and when the Falls GC was open which was Beautiful as you entered the area. This place needs a lot more advertising

You didn't mention it in the video, but did you know that the movie America's Sweethearts was filmed at the Westin there in 2001? It stars Julia Roberts, Billy Crystal, Catherine Zeta Jones and John Cusack. I know because I was a member of their slot club (yes, they did have a small casino in that hotel for a while) and was staying there on a comp. I hung out into the wee hours in the casino hoping to catch any of the stars. No luck though I did get to see some of the filming. It's a fun comedy--check it out. You'll enjoy identifying everything in the hotel where you just stayed.
