Hi Ellis, I'm Juan the guy from Local Visitante. First of all, thank you for stopping by the place and publishing your visit, although it would have been nice if you told me about your channel because I didn't know about it and i really like the content. Also, I tell you that what you calculated was wrong. $93,000 Argentine pesos are £74 pounds, our exchange rate is £1 pound = $1243 Argentine pesos. I hope you didn´t pay everything with card because the exchange was not going to favor you at all, however if you exchanged £ for Argentine pesos in cash everything would have been much cheaper. Unfortunately, in our country we have two exchange markets, an official one that we cannot access and the parallel one with the values that I mentioned. I hope you had a great time in Argentina and you can visit again in the future, it was a pleasure to welcome you in the store.

If you used a visa or Mastercard to pay, you would of been able to access the ‘foreign tourist dollar’ and all these shirts would of been over half the price! Visa converts to the favourable exchange rate on purchase, while Mastercard refunds the difference after a few days! Or western union would of given you the same!

I have just been to Argentina and I know that their currency right now is very confusing due to inflation. But if you would have gotten money out using Western Union, you get 1000 pesos for 1 pound, which makes it really cheap. This is called the blue dollar rate and that is the official rate, but the banks and online currency sites can’t follow the inflation, and that’s why they use a very high rate.

imagine going to argentina and not even investigate about the exchange in the country. like if you watched ANY youtube video about argentina you know that the "unofficial" exchange rate is $1000 ars = 1 usd. and that you never should use credit card or a bank to exchange money. almost all video is crying how expensive is everything instead of how cheap is everything with the 1000 = 1 exchange rate. you missed on buying a lot of great shirt for not spending 15 minutes researching about a country you need 15 hours to fly.
@leandrohernanvega7817

You calculated using the official exchange rate on google, but using a card from a foreing country you would get a special exchange rate. For example that PSG shirt for 34k ARS would have cost you 33 gbp, not 70ish GBP. The exchange rate is a little lower than "blue" cash rate that people are telling you but with the comfyness of using card.

Adidas used to have factories in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile around the 90s and 2000s. I still have a couple of Brazilian superstars from the beginning of the 2000s. if you were traveling to little towns sometimes you could find the '90s Adidas national teams, I found the 94 France blue jersey and a 92 River plate too and I paid like 5 USD for them. I don't think so, that's not black/yellow but navy/yellow, probably Rosario Central or Atlanta. But there was probably one Peñarol shirt at 13:47. 30000 AR$ is barely 35 dollars, which means that's 28 quid, not 70, what exchange rate were you using????

I think the Argentina training shirt is fake, the design is from Adidas 1996 line but the AFA logo is from 1978

It's really incredible that you would come all the way over here and not bother to find out that by paying cash you can get a much better exchange... ARS 93000 = 220 GBP??? more like 76 GBP. Cash is king; especially in Argentina.

You need to great an AwayDays shirt of your own. Based on the Argentinian home kit. White background, Black Adidas shoulder strips, Pale pain front and and back stripes, with AwayDays in black on the front. 👍👍👍👍👍

You were mistaken with the exchange rate. Nobody cares about the official exchange rate. If you had actual cash or you would withdraw from Western Union, you could exchange that cash for the double of what you think it's worth. When you say "40 quid" it's actually 20 quid. You have no idea how cheap these were for you. In any case, it was cheaper than you think because the "credit" card exchange rate for foreigners is instead of AR$ 1000 per Pound around AR$ 800 per pound. But not AR$ 500 per pound as you were thinking.

If you bring cash and exchange in the "blue" market you'll get around 100k pesos for each 100USD so 200k pesos would only be like 200USD

You didn't get ripped off by the shop, you got ripped off by the government and their cheap official exchange rate. 200.000 pesos should be 165 pounds, not 500.

Should have 100% exchanged cash. You would at this time get like 1050 pesos per dollar. I got the original player shirt of Argentina with the 3 stars for 43 EUR

Cant agree more. Yes Maradona cheated. But if Shilton was worth his salt as a keeper. He should have been ahead of him. No one will convince me that Chris Woods should have been our keeper for that tournament. 👍👍👍👍👍

todos los que hablan al pedo del cambio.. si pago con tarjeta de credito la conversion es al dolar MEP.. tal vez no es tan buena como cambiar en una cueva al blue pero mucho mas comodo.
