They can actually stretch rings up to a certain point. Sometimes adding gold is necessary, but if you'd like to be able to wear your wedding set it's a very inexpensive option if they can do it without adding gold. Even then the amount of gold needed isnt much and the cost is low.

My original engagement ring was real but when we were looking at wedding bands I discovered Moissanite. Just as beautiful as diamonds and almost as durable. They don’t fog and are less than half the cost. I sold my engagement ring back to the jeweler we bought it from and got a 3 piece set for about $500. 2 years later it’s still just as gorgeous. It’s just want I want but like a fourth of the cost.
