Computer: Has a low health unit right next to a full health barbarian, easy pickings, logic dictates the barb'll go for it. Barb: Walks *specifically* onto the player's horse, kicks it over, and makes w*nking motions at the player. I've almost considered turning barbarians off in games, because they're a player hazard, not a game mechanic that affects the computer in the slightest.

Any game with anti player bias drives me insane. I've had that kind of stuff happen in civ, stellaris, and total war games, and it's infuriating. I've had civs in total war on basically the opposite side of the world declare war on me when we meet, and spend a good 15 to 20 turns sending doom stacks to come wreck me. All while 4 other nations do the same to me, who happen to neighbor the others, and they all hate each other. I've seen them ignore armies they're at war with that would be an easy win, just to attack me for a much more costly win for them, or hit a town, sack it, and run off. I understand it's there to ensure the player doesn't just chill and snowball while everyone fights each other, but it's not guaranteed to happen everytime. Anti player bias however is guaranteed to nip at your heels everytime.

I really like that Civ VI's pantheons are really situationally useful. I do wish that the map generator did a better job with resource placement and that there was an "okay" pantheon that boosts floodplains or coastal tiles without resources or something like that. Maybe a pantheon that gives a chance of faith yield to tiles on natural disasters, similar to how you can get extra food yields and production yields.

I had a similarly awful start in a recent deity game. I think I had four wars declared on me in around 65 turns. I started next to Australia, who immediately declared war. Held them off, captured a city, got war declared by another neighbour (Ottomons?). So I peaced out Australia, got war declared by Arabia (?), then immediately got a fresh war with Austalia as soon as they could declare it. There was no winning that.

Creators often struggle with diversifying their content if they're really known for doing one thing, but it can be really important for preventing burnout and such. You can always do it the way Soundsmith does, and just start mixing in other content you enjoy making while still also making some of the thing the people want. Gotta keep the lights on after all!

@SirSharkusАй бұрын
The first thing I build in 90% of all my civ 6 games is a second warrior, because I have been surrounded by barb camps far too many times to not get some kind of early game security like that. Most of the time it pays off too, when a camp spawns near my city with only a turn or two left before it finishes lol. I swear, every time I've ever rolled a strong start next to a natural wonder I end up being surrounded by barbarian camps.

you should truly try the bbg mod, even if you are not playing multiplayer, it fixes a lot of things, has enough changes to be refreshing and removes the more braindead ways to play the game, i've fallen in love again with civ VI since playing that single mod.

Had a game where I started on a peninsula with arabia and mongols sat 20ish hexes away at the landward end of the peninsula at the highest difficulty. I didn't even get a chance to settle a second city. Pretty sure the AI compares your military score with its own; if it's at least double, then the probability of war increases massively, which means at the higher levels an early war is almost certain due to the difficulty boost.
