That Buick Park Avenue really hit home for me. I love that car so much my grandma has the exact same car the same color same wheels but only it’s an ultra with the supercharged 3800. It’s definitely seen better days but man oh man I love driving that car. Thanks for showing this. Randy that really brought back some memories.❤❤❤❤

The old Buick. Those 3.8 motors are legendary. I would trust any car with a 3.8 GM motor. I'm having some of those cars with the 3.8 In them as daily drivers or Derby cars. Those things will not quit. One of my favorite GM motors.

The Displacement on Demand first made its appearance in GM 5.3L and 6.2L engines in 2005. Starting with the Envoy XUV and Trailblazer EXT but around 2007, that’s when the trucks started using that setup

The L76 6.0 was introduced in 2006 they deactivated the AFM till 2009. Which makes me think you can turn it off.

Those Buick 3.8L engines have a habit of cracking the intake plenum. They're made of a composite material. Other than that they're very reliable.

Aaahhh, the good ol' gm 4.3 shimmy shake. When they would shake @ an idle & it would feel like a misfire but it wasn't misfiring. They just need the harmonic balancer changed. Because the 4.3 is externally balanced with a specially weighed harmonic balancer that's press fit together on rubber bushings. Rubber starts to get old it shrinks and dries and cracks and the weights start to move around and the engine starts to shake because it's running out of balance just like when you throw a tire weight on a balanced tire, the same principle applies. Luckily there's plenty of aftermarket support with nice one piece harmonic balancers these days to permanently solve the issue 🙃 . My 4.3 vortech has 315k+ on it & it's still running great 🤠

Randy...if you're worried about the MDS or Displacement on Demand, buy an inexpensive tuner and disable it. I own (2) 5.7L Hemi vehicles and I have the MDS disabled on both.

Randy! 2007 was a split year, 2007.5 for the new body style was when Chevy started DoD for their 1/2 trucks and suvs. The old body style 2007s are the last ones without it.

I like the look of the Chevy rally wheels on the 1500... but that's about the only good part of the truck lol. The Buick Park Avenue looks like a great car, but it's too bad the transmission quit working. Besides the cigarette smoke, someone really did take care of it. I also did not notice any burn marks in common areas.
