Hi! On your day star you should try running strata studio pro 1.75 blitz. It's the 3D software cyan used to make Myst, and the 1.75 blitz version is said to be optimized to fully use the 604 processor and it's MP variants. I'd really love a side by side comparison of how renders are handled by this machine against a regular 604 mac.

At the risk of spoiling the surprise, BeOS is quite happy running on that Daystar. I wish I could post a jpg in the comments. I've got a great screenshot I did in 1998 of my Daystar running Sheepshaver -> MacOS 7.5 -> DOS -> Win 3.11 -> a Mac Plus emulator -> a CP/M emulator.

From the moment I saw that DayStar Genesis MP I instantly knew who its previous owner was. Hi Colin/ThisDoesNotCompute! Cool find. I'm curious to see if BeOS will even install on there (ofc it'll fail many times because this IS ActionRetro lol) and whether or not it'll have issues with the quad CPU card in there... If I had it I'd try and XPostFacto install Mac OS X to see if it'd install/even run properly, since Mac OS X loves multi-cores and seeing it run on a quad-604e would be interesting. Also, I don't live in the Midwest nor can I get out there easily, so I ofc wasn't there at VCFMW, but an appearance at VCF East 2024 is a possibility... I'll see what I can manage. Great video! Thanks for the shoutout as always too!

It is a very fair point. It is one thing to have 4 CPU's but if it doesn't map in a standard fashion then other OS's will not see it. Like the customer software merely to get Photoshop to see it on Mac OS. Hopefully we are wrong.
