My wife and I have a road bikes (specialized Roubaix and ruby), gravel bikes (salsa cutthroats), e-gravel bike’s (Kona, libre el) and a custom Rodriguez tandem. I have been fighting stage 4 prostate cancer with metastasis to the bones for the last 2+ years. I can no longer ride an upright diamond frame bike. If I were to fall they say I would have a fracture of the bones and most likely have paralysis. I ordered a recumbent trike and it should arrive today. Even though I can’t do the rides you guys do, I find it motivating to watch your videos. It motivates me to want to get out and ride the trike and be outside. It puts a smile on my face . Wow, that bike really does come close to solving the "one bike fits all" equation! The only deal-breaker for me is; The seat tube doesn't seem to have a mount for a front derailleur. I get that with saddle that's a part of the bike that will never fit all. This is why they often ft them with cheap ones. History of the Ruby. There was once a road race fork from Rockshox called "Ruby". It was basically a reduced travel version of the MAG 20/21. As Rockshox always plays on words with their models; It's a Ruby with the MTB Judy = Ruby. Both both are historic forks and if I'm right? The Ruby borrows a lot of it's tech from the Judy. A good all round and easy adjustable fork. IMO. Great to see Ron back on the team! Ron's routes always RULE! Dustin's Videos are artistic, aesthetic, creative, dramatic, imaginative, and musical. Also unquestionably rule! Ever!
@EverythingsBeenDone Жыл бұрын

YT Szepter is another bike that's very similar to this (and a bit more affordable in the EU). I agree about the suspension fork, if you're just riding for the fun of it, it's a must have. I'm not sure about the dropper post. You have to drop it a couple mm to activate the air spring, so you're trading correct seat height for a bit of cushion. A fixed carbon seatpost would provide extra cushion at the correct seat height.
@Simon-unterwegs Жыл бұрын
You just have to drop it super slightly. I just put the post in these few mm higher then I would need to. But also this is 2-3 mm which you also vary by choosing old bib shorts vs new ones.

It's actually over $8k for the model he's riding if you buy and include tax. But you're right. Bikes nowadays are ridiculously overpriced. It's just a 90s mountain bike rebranded for more money.
