I was scheduled to do a talk at the event for months, but I wasn’t sure what the topic would be. I assumed it would be a demo on scaping until I came up with this idea a few days before. In the end, it was a really cool way to share my knowledge while also doing something fun and interactive with the crowd. Like I said in the video, I wish I’d done the giveaway portion a little differently, but there’s always next time. Either way, I got to meet so many of you and give someone a cool tank - a win in my books!
A huge thanks to Fritz Aquatics for making this build possible and for supporting projects like this.

What a great experience! It was so awesome to meet so many of you who came. I don't know when I'll make it to another event, but probably not till sometime next year. My schedule is pretty booked up for the rest of this one. Until then, I can't wait to do it again, but better. Have a great weekend SerpaSquad!

You were in Texas?! I missed the opportunity to meet you! Please come to Houston someday. 😊 I love the dynamic scape layout. The straight branch added later is so clever, showing your amazing artistic sense. And you are so generous and kind to give the art piece away to the lucky happy audience.

I love how you only consider the value of the piece in the cost of the materials, because people would pay a LOT more than $1250 for a work like this ❤
@rondemeter5774
@rondemeter5774 22 күн бұрын
Tanner, you seriously undervalued that tank. There may be $1,250 worth of materials, but the labor cost (aka: your work) isn't included in that calculation. I assume it's many times that amount.

Man I felt your frustration when you opened the box. But really it was so beautiful in the end. That lady is super lucky to have an original Serpa design. I was wondering if you were planning on going to AnimalCon this year. I’m thinking about going again even though it won’t be the same without Brian. Thank you so much for sharing your creative talents with us. I know you mean it when you say you love us. Not cheesy at all. That’s what Jesus told us to do and I can tell you do it from the heart. ❤Prayers for a speedy recovery from the cold. Travel and lack of sleep will do that. Extra vit C and rest should help.

Post convention sickness is a common reaction people experience. The fatigue, stress and possible nervousness lowers your immune system and the large amount of people gathered at a con gives opportunity for viruses to spread.

What an awesome experience for the attendees, to watch you work on a project in person, ask questions, and have a chance to win a Serpa original creation. Sounds like you need some quality time off, to rest up from the travel and busy schedule. Hope you're feeling better. You mentioned the salt water tank - perhaps sometime before year's end you could do an update? Thank you for all you do.

Oh dude this is beautiful! Despite the difficulties with shipping and timestress i think this is one of my favourite pieces youve made recently 😍 the colours and the flow of the eye are really gorgeous here, i think the simplicity of the plants allow the hardscape to shine through in a way that i havent really seen on this chanel in a while. Not that i dislike a variety plant filled green box but something about this is just really stunning to me

Checking bags is not any more of a hassle than flying itself is. I always have a checked bag as I travel with some things that I cannot carry in the plane cabin, and because I hate to be one of those people in the cain who takes up a ton of space and causes problems for everyone else by trying to cram way too much in the overheads and under the seats. I want the on/off plane experience to be fast, smooth, and easy. Lots of carry on does not allow for that.

Hi @SerpaDesign, I have a question for you. I have designed a shrimp tank with a beautiful aquasoil slope and mostly 95% land area for a 10 Gallon tank. However, I recently bought 2 Blue Borneo crabs as they were too cute and added them in without much thought. Now I find myself with a predicament of having too little land area to support these little ones. Do you have any suggestions on how to add land area to an already existing tank? I tried to look for DIY projects such as floating platforms and stuff, but nothing satisfactory comes up. Mostly they are too artificial looking to fit into the current landscape, and doesn't really support live plants. Would be great if you can come up with a good design for us to look at and modify. Thank you!

You get sick on plane rides.. my entire family has always worked in the airlines, and back in the day the air filters would get swapped out between every flight... after 9/11, there were so many layoffs that the air filters now only get changed during A Checks, which are approximately every few months give or take. So when you fly you have a good chance of sharing the air with at least a month's worth of passengers.
