Your outpouring of love in these comments means the WORLD to both me and Kristi. I also wanted to update you guys -- in the few weeks since we finished filming this episode, Kristi's glucose levels have normalized since the first time since her diagnosis, AND she lost another half inch off her waist through her nutritional work with Brandon.

PCOS responds really well to slow workouts that don’t raise stress levels! the stress levels are what causes the weight gain. if you do slow weighted workouts and rest when your body needs it, you will see a huge difference!

I love that we can get to see a bigger person workout and eat right but NOT see a huge drop in weight because it shows people that all bodies are different and what may make one person drop 30 pounds in 7 weeks may not have the same result on another person's body. But there are some people who body shame and just dont empathize with people who have severe weight issues like this young woman. By severe I mean overweight and very difficult to lose it. I go through this too. I can lose the first 10 pounds and then my body just stubbornly holds on and wont let me keep losing. It's very defeating. We have to learn as a society to be more understanding and more supportive to overweight people. I really hope she continues eating right and exercising!

Sorry fam but the average joe's metabolism doesn't vary that much as people always make it out to be. Unless you have a physical condition like the lady in the video, you should have no problem in losing weight/building muscle. Some just don't exercise and or restrict themselves enough with food. Calories vs. calories out

@@Leanne_w no one said it was an excuse, and no one said that all people who have slow metabolisms dont know why. My point was not everyone gets the same results for the same amount of calories burned and the same amount of calories eaten and to be more empathetic to those people.

Michelle encouraging her to say ‘director’ with confidence really got me. I know this series is technically a ‘body’ makeover, but it’s always amazing to see how much taking control of your healthy can help you take control of your life. I’m a creative person (with PCOS) who’s been trying to break into my industry for so many years, and sometimes self care definitely takes a back seat. Melissa Smith I do want to preface this with the fact that I am not a doctor. To my knowledge (personal and research) struggling to get pregnant or struggling to carry to term is not uncommon with PCOS. However, I highly suggest you ask your doctor about your specific situation and needs because PCOS symptoms vary from person to person and there are plenty of different avenues to try in terms of keeping a regular cycle and ensuring the safest possible pregnancy. Many women don’t have much of an issue with getting pregnant and many women do. Talk to a medical professional whom you trust to properly advise you about your PCOS. Much love 💛

I've NEVER been skinny or "fit" and having PCOS, HS, Hypothyroidism and being recently diagnosed with LUPUS I have been in the worst possible mental state. I just want to be healthy and actually feel it. It's so hard working out and finding the right workouts due to my body always being in pain. I'm glad videos like this exist for people who have invisible disabilities.

I haven't even gotten 5 minutes into the video and I wanted to thank you, Michelle, for bringing awareness to PCOS. Having PCOS and being a rock climber and going to the gym is a test of my determination and self discipline every day. It's so nice and reassuring to see light being shined on these illnesses, knowing that maybe people can understand the pain of our every day life and also knowing that other women are kicking ass with PCOS is real nice too. ❤️

Can I just tell you how absolutely amazing this video was? I struggle with PCOS as well and know the difficulties of living with it and feeling so awful about myself. I find it hard to get motivated to work out because you do feel like there won't be a difference and you're embarrassed about your body so you don't want people to see you working out. This is such an amazing and beautiful video and I hope you realize how amazing you are Michelle for giving these people especially Kristi an opportunity to feel happy and like themselves again. Much much love and appreciation.

I would love to see the next Extreme Body Makeover episode feature someone who has dietary restrictions (either due to allergy/intolerance or by choice). It would be interesting to see what differences you would have to make/consider if the person training was vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant, celiac, etc.

It’s interesting because I’m now 20 years old and back when I was 15/16 I was told I was too young to be put on stronger medications for PCOS. This was in Canada so I know the mentality with prescription medication can be different in the USA. But I’ve had it relatively under control with diet and exercise and the birth control minipill until now... and I know of others like me too. So when I see a lot of American youtubers or bloggers who were put on these medications earlier it surprises me. Also, they usually have more issues with weight and depression. That aside, I have to say I found Kristi to be super inspirational and strong. Since I also have cerebral palsy which results in weakness on my right side, exercise is always a fight and a challenge. But I don’t allow people to see that in my day to day unless they are close to me, because I worry so much about seeming weak. Seeing Kristi be so open made me feel better about maybe letting more people in and asking for help, so thank you!

Even though there wasn’t the drastic physical change as there has been in some of the previous episodes, the change in her mental state is amazing, especially considering that she lost her job in the middle. And when the nutritionist offered to give her another month for free I was so happy!! Such a genuinely kind gesture. Thank you for promoting a truly inclusive idea of fitness Michelle!!
