"The Church Is Evil" Is a trope of Diablo games. Because the Angels aren't good in the Diablo world. They are just the other side of the coin of the Demons. Most of the Angels in Diablo also think all the humans should be wiped out as they were created as progeny of a Demon and an Angel. They want the whole of Sanctuary wiped out. Also, if we're talking about tropes the "out of california" trope is a bit more played out by now than "the church is evil." I think D4 sucks and I didn't get the expansion. Personally I think the Diablo team didn't want to make an RPG so the game they did make isn't for me. But don't let your brain get into lazy ruts, Nixxiom! "California bad" "they are attacking the church because they are California liberals" whatever. It's small minded. You can do better. Unrelated: Tom Bombadill could not have destroyed the ring. He could have kept it safe until all the rest of Middle Earth was destroyed. But he would have lost track of it and when the rest of Middle Earth was overrun by Sauron, his power would have diminished with it as his power is connected to the land he calls his home. This is all explicitly stated in the Fellowship of the Ring (book not movie) during the Council of Elrond before the founding of the Fellowship. It is suggested they give the ring to Tom to keep safe while they fight Sauron and Gandalf says it won't work for the reason Nixxiom states. They aren't even sure throwing the ring into the fires of Mount Doom will destroy it either. It's just the best idea they have.

The Church thing is absolutely stupid. Yes, Angels hate Nephalems just like Demons. But Humans/ Nephalems should help each other in order to survive and not idolize Angels or Demons like we have in D4. In the past Diablo games, humans were looking for power and that is what corrupted them, however, the corruption in D4 feels like it's more sentimental. Nobody is looking for power in D4 but they still get corrupted cause rhey have bad feelings....

@@zenshakujo8070 D4's plot is all over the place and it doesn't seem to acknowledge it's own lore or the lore of past Diablo games. Lilith and her followers brutally murdering people seems like it's just there because her philosophy is objectively better than Inarius's but she needed to be the bad guy for the first game. Her philosophy is "You should be free, and I want the Demons and Angels to be unable to access Sanctuary so my children are free to do what they want and define themselves." At least that is what I understood from her scenes and the dialog of several characters. But she's the bad guy because she and her followers flay randos. Inarius meanwhile wants to control everyone and kinda hates humans. In previous games, it's not clear what religion there even is. In diablo 1 the game takes place descending through a Chapel. But who was being worshipped or why is not really delved into in the game itself (although I remember vaguely some lore in the instruction manual). The chapel was corrupted, Lazarus the priest kidnapped the kid. Adria is a witch, what she believes in isn't clear. And there's vague references to the Horadrim that get explored more in D2. In D2, there's again a Monastery that the Rogues had fled. What the Rogues were doing in the Monastery and what was being worshipped there is again unclear and unimportant. Anyway we could go on. The games have always highly featured some kind of church or church iconography but the church is always vaguely defined. Tyrael is the first divine being we meet and he is fighting evil but is willing to sacrifice humans to do it. Sending Marius on a quest he knows he can't complete is peak "I don't give a crap mortal, do the thing! I gotta fight this demon!" It's always been in Diablo that power structures are corrupt because the world of Sanctuary is inherently hellish. Which is why Leah's "Demon's are real??!?!!" Moment is so wtf. Yeah they are real dum dum... where have you been living this whole time?

You reviewing the dl- sorry update, means you don't really know what the issues were and which are still present. no they reworked them all in season 4, now the secondary stats that come with gear are much simpler and you get a max of 3 stats on a legendary item instead of 4, and 4 stats as uniques, but now yellow items are useless since they will only roll with 2 stats rather than 4 like legendary and they fill in your bag in case you want to want to turn them into legendariies. these random stats always are related to your class and only few will affect you negatively unless you run a specific meta build which then you have to rummage through legendaries with 2 of the 3 BIS stats cuz u can always reroll the third forever Also there is a new system that is called tempering that allows you to add 2 extra stats in a category of your choice but they are random between 2-4 of that category and they are more class specific usually and also simple stats, the ones like get 40% crit damage on slowed targets while vulnerable are gone for good, now you just get 40% crit damage instead
