That’s what I was thinking. I know it has a small mirror, but vanities should have a large mirror in the center of all of it. It just looks like a desk tucked into a closet IMO.

Great... for a middle schooler. Like this has been said already, no part of this makeover/under makes any sense. The shelves in the closet are no longer being utilized, and now all of her stuff is everywhere BUT where it's supposed to be- in the closet. Displaying your shoes and clothes are cute, if you're a teen. But it's not practical at all. And that spray paint on the clothing rack is going to come scraping off the minute she slides a hanger on there.

I know exposed racks are a trend but I would be so annoyed to have all my clothes out, they will get dusty quick. Then putting the containers under the bed would again be a dust collector. And I'd have to bed/sit on the floor to get my clothes.... a big NOPE.

I would be so mad if someone took out everything that was in my closet and scattered it everywhere except the closet... all her basics are bunched up under the bed. Also, a study lamp for make up... That’s not an upgrade. The closet had more that enough space for all her things to be displayed properly if the designers bothered to think of a way

H H that’s probably because this Ashleigh girl is a self appointed designer, I don’t think she has any studies or notable experience in that department and it shows. I’ve never seen her even doing the basics, like a floor plan with the furniture on it.

I just found this Nifty Channel this weekend. The thing that struck me is that y'all have ideas that I feel I CAN actually use! In fact, I sent videos to my BFF....we are both quite handy with power tools and doing construction projects on our own. She's a single woman who had to adopt her 2 grandchildren, had to buy a new house and is struggling a bit. She wants to make this house functional and her own space. I think there are several ideas I sent her that will help her to do that. Love this channel!

So y'all went with artificial overhead and task lighting and a tiny mirror instead of a vanity mirror with vanity lighting!? And you defeated the purpose of a closet by buying a clothes rack. I know that's the trend now, but you didn't even spray paint it evenly, you can still see the black metal underneath at 8:08. I'm sure you're proud of this and she seemed genuinely happy, but this is actually underwhelming and seems poorly thought out.

I don't have room in my new apartment but in my old one I had all my clothes on clothes racks and it helped me use more of my clothes. I ended up also donating some because I saw the clothes I was just NOT wearing. I now have a walk in closet and I have them folded like they would be at a store, so I can still see them. A+ on the color scheme too!

I wish there were more episodes so I can luxuriate and watch an entire day of home makeovers. Can I just tell you that I love home decor, don't know how to do it, but I love to watch it. There is only ONE show on HGTV that I LOVE, Love, love and it's anything Sarah Richardson. She's the queen/god/empress interior designer in Toronto. I can't watch any of her shows in the U.S. bc of some licensing silliness. Anyway, you are now my number two go to interior space decorator. For me design has to make sense while also being practical and affordable. Goop is so off the spectrum it's not even a goal. Don't even talk to me about Wal-mart or Sears, and unfortunately a lot of design shows have to cater to their sponsors. The energy that Ashley has along with creativity is intoxicating. PLUS she's bringing a millennial spin to it by checking out folks Insta-Pinter channels. Keep the episodes coming!! There should be 4 seasons a year! You know, every 3 months is a new season. [just a suggestion]

Vanity lighting is hot af, and in a small space she’d pass out. That said, a non heat emitting light that could mount or clip to a near by surface (like those cool floating shelves) would be perfect. ~ The Makeup Light is perfect for a small space like this. Mirrors are easy to come by, esp if she’s used to doing makeup on the go, but lighting is EVERYTHING. ❤️ ~ love the accent wall, such a sweet and calming color for a beautiful soul.
