The build doesn’t have 12 million blocks placed down in it, that number was just for the entire AREA the build takes up, so it also includes all the ‘air blocks’ that are around and inside the base. The real number probably isn’t even 1 mil and you could get an accurate number by counting all the blocks placed he shows right after.

Hey Joel! You can replace slabs and stairs etc with worldedit (and retain their rotations and states) by adding ^ before the replacement block in the command. For example //replace spruce_stairs ^acacia_stairs

I agree with the "OUGH" sentiment it really stands out :D if the King of Mezalea was ever to get corrupted I feel like this would be the palace he would reside in. The variation of color palettes also helped me notice different smaller details I hadn’t before, since each draws your eye differently. I also think the in-between stages as you’re changing the color look super cool as well! :D

SmallishBeans please don't give up on the interior! I have been painstakingly building Mezalia and the Matral Palace and would love to see the interior finished! I would also love to see the bridge from the city to the palace! The dark oak version of the palace with shaders though, serirously bewteen the winter one (although incredible especially with shaders) the dark oak version with shaders is DEFINITELY the cream of the crop! I just love the glow agaisnt the red roofs, and how it forms a gradient from yellow to red! And how the gradient between the warm colors of the roofs and brown and black colors below said roofs just fit it so nicely! Sorry if this comment doesn't make any sense, and if it's cringey, but Joel's palaces in this video are phenomenal especially the dark oak version with shaders!

The Ice Palace was my personal fave but yeah it needed to be higher up with mountains just as high to really showcase it. The Dark Palace was really cool too but I think I could see it better in the nether. On a side note, I'd love to see a version of the Mezalean Palace in the End. I think it'd suit the end really well.

You inspired one of my worlds and I’m happy with what my world looks like. The palace is nowhere near as big but I like it. I feel like there are two mesa styles, the really blocky like almost terracotta medieval castles, and the really fancy round style. I really like your recolours, but I think the forest really makes the palace look really big but the mountains make it look smaller. I also feel like the forest one is for Xornoth and the winter one for Scott, and of COURSE the regular one for you. If it was pink and white and blue it would be for Lizzie and other colours for other empires, etcetera. I really think that a Lizzie mezalea palace would be cool, I would love that video. Love your vids.

If you are thinking of doing something like this again, you could do more biomes (which I would love to see, I’m aware you don’t usually do multiple parts for things like this), but you could also do different block categories, like valuable blocks, nether blocks, different plant blocks, wood variations, or stone variations.

Just FYI, you can change only the top slabs if you mark them as "whatever_slab[type=top]". Same goes if you want to only change the bottom slabs, just mark them as "whatever_slab[type=bottom]". So for example, if you want to change only top warped slabs into top crimson slabs, you can type "//replace warped_slab[type=top] crimson_slab[type=top]". Hope this helps with a future build/video, it was a life saver for me when I figured it out :)
