I gave Rocket League players the WORST teammates, here's what happened...

Can Rocket League players win with bad teammates? In this Rocket League challenge I let two Diamond players PICK their bad teammate before facing off in a 2v2 match up. Do they want a ball chaser? demo chaser? a freestyler? a toxic chat spammer? or maybe custom bot? Each of these bad teammate "roles" will be performed by platinum players that have to follow a specific set of rules while still trying to win. Can the diamonds adapt to their bad teammates playstyle and perhaps find a way to use it to their advantage? Find out in this diamond and plat bad teammate showdown.

Toxic slow typer. Not as toxic as the toxic loser but if they get pissed off or if someone flames them they have to stay stationary and one finger hunt and peck a response. Might be the same as the "freestyler" but the "Can't aerial but always tries" guy. Boost hog. Will only to play the ball when he's on 100% boost, immediately goes for the nearest full boost afterwards.

I couldn’t even tell you the amount of times I’ve had teammates give up on the game in the first minute from going down one or two goals or from getting accidentally bumped by me or another teammate. I'll take the ball chaser. Least stress and least chaotic of the three. I'll hang back on our half, back post rotate and try to clear the ball over to the guy, end the match with 5 saves no goals while my buddy does the opposite.

There's an entire demolition community out there that get hundreds of demos per day. They exist. They are not all "chasers" but this was more of a fictionalized version of bad teammate stereotypes so there is some exaggeration.

Chaser I can work with. I'll just stay back more and fill in where needed. Freestylers are worse, because they're usually not actually trying to win, so they're almost actively throwing. Toxic players are the worst, even if their game sense and mechanics are on point. I'd rather have a silver chaser teammate than a toxic GC.

Sometimes perms goalie are good. That and perma goalies are almost meta since most plats are ball chasers and usually there’s a three commit for most of the game. Somebodies gotta play 3rd and most randoms don’t want to.
