Since you are a jazz musician, there are for sure songs you will like. Solo and group songs. As already said here, V's album "Layover" but also his Tiny Desk Korea performance and his video performance "Le jazz de V". As group songs I am thinking to an old one, Rain, which has a jazzy, melancholic vibe. Or "134340 (Pluto)", with bossa nova riythms... There's really a lot to listen to. Welcome to the rabbit hole 💜 are you in for a rollercoaster ride? See you next reaction, then Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹

If you love Jazz then I recommend BTS’ House of Cards (preferably a live performance with English Subtitles), Still With You by Jungkook (regular version, not the accapella version) V’s Tiny Desk Concert or music video for Singularity, or Music Video for Any of his songs from his Layover album. Or a Live performance of Jimin’s Lie with English Subtitles. Jungkook, Jimin, and V are all members of BTS. Each of the BTS members also have solo songs/albums alongside what they do as a group with BTS. But I also consider the members solo work BTS songs, maybe because many BTS albums contain solo songs by the members or subunit songs featuring just a few of the members.

Welcome to the world of BTS. 70 year old fan here who only discovered them in the last 2 years. They have completely renewed my love of all kinds of music from the past to the present. Not to mention how good they are for your mental health. You will be amazed at their versatility, talent, humble personalities and incredible amount of content if you keep going down the BTS rabbit hole as well as all the solo projects they each have. Most of their music is in Korean (some a mix of Korean & English) as well as Japanese. Dynamite and 2 other songs, Butter & Permission to Dance are their all English songs released during the pandemic with feel good happy vibes. Try and watch videos with subtitles for most their songs, their lyrics are very good & impactful. Watch a mix of live performances and videos. All their Solo content is great too! I probably repeated what a lot of other people said, but these are some of my suggestions.

BTS is mostly in the military, one is finished, one almost home. They took three years to serve for 18 months and do solo work the other 18. There are 26 albums in 3 languages. Before the solo period, as a group they performed for 9 years. They reached the top of k-pop and the top of the charts in the western world, in fact bringing k-pop to the western world. You've just listened to the "poppiest" of songs - they did three in English as a group, not even written by them. Otherwise their Korean work is deep and rich, borrows from traditional k-pop but is original and unique. Welcome!

BTS fans are called Army. They prefer you refer to BTS as a Boy "group", not boy band. The leader RM has over 200 songwriting and composing credits and another member Suga has probably close to 200 as well. Suga is actually an award winning producer as well, even for other artists. Suga is a very talented musician - piano and guitar.

Kpop isn’t necessarily all pop. This song is, but Kpop is not really a genre, it’s an industry, and it encompasses all genres of music that come out of Korea. Even BTS does not stick to one genre, but dabbles in many genres including Jazz. BTS has a Latin song too. It’s called Airplane part 2. If you like Rock you might enjoy the Korean group The Rose, and some of the solo songs put out by The Rose’s lead singer Woosung or another singer Jackson Wang have elements of Funk, particularly Face by Woosung and Bullet to the Heart by Jackson Wang. Oh, and Standing Next to You by Jungkook of BTS. That one is a must watch.

Kpop is actually an industry, not a musical genre. Korean music businesses contract and train talented young people, eventually forming groups. Different music genres are produced under the K-pop umbrella--pop, rap, RnB. BTS did not write this song, most of their songs are Korean with some English. Official music videos will have Eng closed captions. DNA, Mic Drop, Black Swan and ON Kinetic Manifesto might be good to watch. Also Tiny Desk. They have a large discography.

I am subscribing just to enjoy watching you discover BTS as a group as well as the mountain of solo work by the members waiting for you! All of the recommendations below would be on my list as well, but there are two in particular I would like to emphasize: RM's recent solo album is technically "hip-hop" but the way he experiments with tempo and beat will leave you stunned as a jazz musician. "Domodachi" has a time signature so complex it baffles even the most accomplished classical composers. Each song is a tiny masterpiece. Another you will love is "Nuts". The official music video was recorded live, btw. Then there is "Lost". You just need to see it. Jin (eldest member) appeared on stage with Coldplay at their (9 nights sold out) concert in Argentina to perform "The Astronaut" with them. It's a song he wrote with Chris Martin. Find a clip that includes Martin's spoken intro. You'll cry. I promise.

I have not listened to much "pop" music in decades. Even as a teenager I was more into R&B than pop. Later I got into groups like "Traffic" which had some jazz elements in some of their music. I slowly morphed into "soft rock" which I believe is now called "Yacht Rock". I stumbled into BTS by accident here on KZbin. All seven of the members are extremely talented. Some have solo projects as well. Welcome to the Rabbit Hole that we know as ...... BTS. Take care..

Your reaction style is fun! 😁 I grew up with jazz and lots of other styles because my dad's a musician... so I feel at home with your response to the music. 😊 Believe it or not, Dynamite is really catchy but it isn't representative of BTS' general discography - since they're almost never this pop-sounding. The near 2B views are because this was their big push to get the radio plays. My recommendations - 1. "House of Cards" by BTS' 4 vocal specialists 2. "Outro: Tear" by BTS' 3 rap specialists 3. "Lie" by BTS member Jimin -- musicians love this one 4. Tiny Desk Concert by BTS member V -- 🎷jazzy tunes from his solo album 5. "First Love" by BTS member SUGA -- about his first piano 6. "Yun" by BTS member RM feat. Eryka Badu 7. "Standing Next to You" by BTS member Jungkook 8. "Epiphany" by BTS member Jin -- live performance with Eng lyrics 9. "MORE" by BTS member j-hope

Dynamite is a bop for sure. It was released during pandemic lockdown as a pick me up for the world - because that is how BTS is, always thinking about others. It's part of a trio of pick-me-up songs (with Butter and Permission to Dance) which are their only all English songs in a discography many hundreds of songs deep. But it really does not typify BTS' sound at all. Most of their songs are not this kind of pure pop. BTS does a TON of genres and styles: rock, pop-rock, pop, rap-rock, jazz, R&B, neo soul, EDM, Latin pop and more, but the core of BTS is Hip-Hop. The three rappers are the principal songwriters/composers/producers in the group. Every one of their 20 group albums and 14 solo albums among members are concept albums, and all of those albums are diverse within themselves. They are more a genius artist collective of 7 individual incredibly rare talent super stars than anything resembling a "boy band" which is a really limiting and manufactured notion. These guys were discovered and nurtured, not manufactured. There has never been anything like BTS and is not likely to be ever again. They are honestly a miracle. That's not an overstatement. If you delve more into their music and their story you will see what I mean.

Yes K-Pop is a label for the Korean Music Industry but the music genre is not all pop. The groups all have different genres. BTS has opened peoples eyes to the Korean Music Industry. BTS are a 3rd generation group and they are now in 4th generation. Like TXT,Stray Kids etc. 2nd generation groups had "beast" groups meant to be more "manly". Groups like 2pm also incorporated acrobatics in their performances. Other 2nd generation groups are Shinee Super Junior Big Bang and girls group Girls Generation and Wonder Girls. Groups have "lines" like dance line, rap line and vocal line etc they are all good dancers and I'm baised but I seem to be preferring their music over the western stuff at the moment. BTS are currently finishing their mandatory military service with only Jin the eldest finished. The all have solo albums. You currently might be hearing Jungkook's Seven, Standing next to you, 3D or Jimin's Who, Set me Free etc You are now entering the Rabbit hole. Enjoy your journey like I am. I'm happy to be called an older Army, Hottest, Stay, Blink etc. All groups have their own fandom names. Lots to learn and enjoy.💜😊

Kpop groups are made up of rappers and vocals. It's based on r&b, pop, trap, EDM, rock, hip hop. Kpop has no genre - it's a mix of all! There are beautiful r&b and jazz style songs too.

BTS are what you would think of as a Supergroup in that all 7 members have solo music that runs alongside and part of BTS and they are all completely different musically. Jazz/R&B /Soul is V please watch .... V TINY DESK CONCERT that's with a live jazz band. AIRPLANE 2 is more Latin. Name another genre we will point you to another song.

Kpop isn't per se pop music. It's an industry. BTS does over 30 genres. There's everything in kpop. You'll love it. Try ON: kinetic manifest; Blood sweat & tears and black swan They're freaking good dancers.

I'd love to see you react to some more BTS, you've only heard one of their shallowest songs so far... since you're a jazz musician I highly recommend BTS leader RM's song Domodachi and his album Right Place Wrong Person. Also try V's Tiny Desk Concert. For an actual BTS song with a somewhat jazzy sound, try 134340. There's so much great stuff to discover in their discography!

@@A-AronReacts Oh nice, I'll look out for it! Hoping you try some of their more interesting stuff, so many reactors stick to a handful of popular singles and then trail off, but the variety these guys have beyond the surface level is insane!

@@shockofthenewI reacted today to 134340. Will probably edit tomorrow and be released in 2-3 days. FYI, I have a YT membership for $1 and another slightly higher one so it will be released to those first before going public
