I go to The Hospital to See What my Broken Collarbone Looks Like

Three days after breaking my collarbone on a gravelbike ride, I head to the Montreal General Hospital to actually see what l my broken collarbone looks like ", with x-rays that the orthopaedic surgeon will show me.
It's just a good thing I didn't see these images the very day that this gravelbiking injury happened, because I probably would've passed right out have a look for yourself and you'll probably agree that surgery is a really good option… In the meantime I'm going to have to figure out innovative ways to do some of these regular every day tasks with one hand, while I'm waiting for my clavicle injury to heal....

Just broke mine at soccer match 5 days ago! love coffee too but immediately next day didn’t taste good either!

Lex aw man so sorry to hear surgery is needed. But probably the best for healing. Hang in there and hope the trainer will be used soon.

Mine is broken in the same place now but I have 2 breaks 😭 I'm also in Asia with the chance of surgery for another 3 months 😢

Dang. That’s not just a cracked bone and you’re walking around filming videos! When I broke my leg I took myself off the pain meds too! Just ibuprofen 800’s. It was a while before coffee tasted good again for me too. You’re doing great. You’ll be back on the bike in no time!

Ok Lex now for some straight talk from somebody who has been there. Remember I fractured my spine and was back cycling in 90 days. How? First stop being a hero. Get help to make the bed. Let your friends take care of you. Allow yourself time to rest and heal. Read a book. Listen to music. Sleep a lot. Of course this is hard to do but if it was easy everyone would do it. Take your meds as prescribed at least for now. You won't heal or feel better if you're in pain and you keep pushing the limits (which as a cyclist) is essential but as a patient (which is what you are for the next few weeks at least) you need to take better care of yourself. Yes you're a tough athlete and now as a pro you need to do the pro stuff if you want to get back cycling as soon as possible. BTW when I say I can feel your pain I mean that quite literally and I am so sorry for you and wish you a complete and speedy recovery. Just stop being such a bad a** :)
