Sophia is quite the videographer. She kept every thing in frame. I can't even do that every time and I'm 47 with a degree in cinematography. Also, love snapping turtles. They look like relics of the past.

Alligator snapping turtles are probably my favorite reptiles. They’re *SO* cool! I know Tom took good care of them, but it’s so great seeing these guys go from those (relatively) small concrete tanks to Kenan’s huge pond where they can live the life they were meant to live while still being protected and taken care of. And of course while educating people about how amazing this species is. Alligator Snappers are vulnerable and are at risk due to habitat loss and from people capturing them for the pet trade. They’re extinct in much of their original range and are endangered in several states. The more people show them as education animals as they *should* be, like this, maybe it will become more widely known what they require and how rare that is (that you basically need a zoo or very large filtered stock pond in the right climate.), maybe the demand for them as pets will lessen and their numbers in the wild can bounce back.

So nice to see how you treat Sophia. I grew up on a farm and followed my dad around. I watched the dehorning and even castrating of the cattle. I tried to help milk the cows. My dad was very patient. He taught me how to catch bridle and saddle our horse when I was about Sophia's age. He brought home 6 rabbits for me and taught me how to breed them. My dad was amazing.

KENAN= my brothers used to go snapper hunting back in the '70's and one time my brother caught a huge snapper, even bigger then your big guy and the turtle jumped and snapped at him and caught his pant leg so tight around his leg and wouldn't let go. Bro had to cut it's head off to get free and that turtle head held on for 4 whole days until it let go! it was an amazing animal! Thank you Tom for giving Kenan a bucket list animal! Congrats Kenan!

Been a long time since i have seen a mud turtle. When i worked as an animal nutritionist in the 70's and 80's my boss keeped 1 at the store he was small still small enough for a tank. He finally gound someone to give him a good home in a pond

Holy cow! Those 2 are beasts! Dinosaurs is right! Really cranky looking too! Lol Not something you would want to come face to face with if you were ever swimming in a pond or any other type of waterway! I’m guessing you won’t be going swimming in this pond anymore, Kenan!! Not if you value all of your body parts! Lol Godzilla 1 really does look ancient! I’m not sure if where you found these 2 at Tom’s place, was where they lived, but if it was, then it’s awesome that they have relocated to a much bigger living space. I’m not saying that there was anything wrong with their enclosure at Tom’s place, I just mean that if you ever have to rehome an animal, it should at least be to improved living conditions. If you are going to take an animal away from it’s home, from everything it knows and is comfortable with, it should be for an upgrade! I love how much space you are giving them Kenan. I imagine that if alligator snapping turtles could be happy, then good old Godzilla was humming a happy song as he was swimming away from you, into his new, massive home of your pond! Is this the same pond that the alligators are going to? Is it safe for alligators and alligator snapping turtles to live in the same ponds? You guys all did a great thing today! It's so cool that Sophia is learning from u. U know I bet Kate would be the same way if she wasn't brought up to be afraid and scared of reptiles as a kid. Which im just assumimg because we learn to be afraid and we're taught at a young age that these animals are scary and dangerous and they don't have a purpose unless there being made into boots or belts.
