watching a commercial is the least we can do to help fund the american hotel, which had me in tears when I saw it burned down, especially because your passion for cerro gordo is contagious as you reveal her secrets, and history that is part of being an american. This channel captures history that people are trying to erase. The people and adventures are worth watching a commercial, because this is people helping other people because they feel the passion for this place, and have made it a collective effort that we can help out by watching commercials. @@hoosierpatriot2280 There's a lot more to patriotism than just signing up to the forces. There are plenty who did the same but now vote against the best interest of their country repeatedly, kicking down instead of up. Patriotism is a lifelong endeavor and not just one where you serve and you're done. That's the wrong attitude. I also just watched your recent video and it's clear you don't understand the first amendment (don't even try to argue, you've already proven it with your recent video), and you listen to propaganda rather than fact-check. The 1st amendment doen't prevent a private company from limiting the content placed on their own system. This isn't "Tyranny". Using that word in this context is childish. KZbin is removing vaccine disinformation, because it has encouraged millions to perpetuate the deaths of Americans instead of recognizing they are part of a community responsible for the health and wellbeing of the whole. As for the rest of the videoo, best wishes with your health, and thank you for your PRIOR service.

Brent, love what you are doing with the town and your videos are a lot of fun to watch. I used to run similar 5 and 10 ton trucks up and down mountain passes and one tip so you can stay safe and stop in an emergency is to ONLY use the service brakes for stopping. Always use the engine and gearing to maintain your speed when descending. If you've got a Jake brake or exhaust brake you can decent faster but always descend slow enough to gear down to whatever gear is needed to control the descend speed. Without a Jake or exhaust brake you probably need to use one or two gears lower when descending compared to climbing. This is normal with those old 5 and 10 ton trucks. If the engine rpm starts climbing and pushing slightly past redline, hit the service brakes and drop down a gear (or more if you are in a way too high range). It won't hurt the engine to have it screaming close to redline all the way down the mountain. BTW redline is probably somewhere around 2500 rpm for that truck. It is always safer to descend in a lower gear than required (and lower speed) and the more weight you are hauling, the lower the gear/lower speed you need to use. If you do this you'll always be able to come to a stop in an emergency. If you use the service brakes to descend you'll ALMOST CERTAINLY experience an out of control run away truck if you ever try to stop while descending a mountain grade. It might seem like things are under control if using the service brakes to descend, but because the brakes are already hot, if you try to actually stop they will rapidly overheat and instead the truck will take off down the mountain with no way to slow it down. Also on an old farm I used to work 40 years ago, we had a 100 year old crane system that used wood on wood for linear bearings (similar to your elevator). We used to always keep a bucket of grease and a paintbrush with us to lube up the wooden slides. You'll be amazed how much better greased up wood slides on wood. Hope this helps. Good luck with your adventures!

I get giddy when you 3 collab. Dave and Dave obviously get to make content by giving you that truck but they couldve just sold it to you and they would've had the same opportunity. Genuine good guys here

Thank you for putting all that you do on “film” and sharing with us. The town, the mine, the logistics of everything, the daily doings, and the relationships. Your support will be forever growing. Hope to set foot in your town in the future. All the best.

I found this channel when I watched heavy D’s videos when they started on the hotel . I proceeded to binge watch every episode from the beginning and ghost town living is one of my favorite channels to watch now. Brents vision for the town is awesome and I hope he succeeds with everything he sets out to do. Keep up the great work 👍
