My only concern with recommending anyone get a burmese python is the amount of space required for their enclosure. Yeah, you're right that the actual care isn't too hard, but I don't think most people understand or are able to supply the vast amount of space needed for them to live comfortably and thrive. We're talking like 4 ft by 8 ft floor space at the least for an adult. They can be such wonderful and active snakes when given the room they need, but often I see them housed in small tubs or small cages where they can really only have enough room to coil up and sit in a corner all day. I just hope you can provide the space needed and I'm hoping your new place provides that space. :)

@serpadesign I hope not! I hope you can keep expanding! :) And yeah, I just think its important to mention space needed in a video talking about if they're good pets or not, that's the first thing you need to think about before deciding on a large pet. :)

As a side note the gets on burmese can have visual markers. The het green is why there is yellow between the patches instead of just white like a pure albino burmese. The het granite influences the patches so that his pattern is different than a normal or even pure albino burmese.

@darcieclements48805 жыл бұрын
Thank you for mentioning the strength factor, not enough people are aware. The amount of power in a burmese python is unreal. I helped care for a few for a summer and it took 6 people to manage one of them that was not cooperative (She was wild caught half grown, this was at a zoo). 6 very strong people for her, 2-3 for the rest just because they are so heavy. Why did we have to move the cranky one? Stuck shed and body condition measurements >_< Actually, 7 people, my job was getting the doors. There are other very large snakes with worse temperaments, but the strength in a burmese stands out in my mind as something extra to keep in mind.
