I love Colorado. Absolutely beautiful. You made fixing your tire look so easy! Loved Logan’s grin from ear to ear. I’m not sure I’d want to win a big vehicle of any kind on some of those trails. Alright. Now you are getting into the good stuff. From Lake City you will likely go across Cinnamon Pass down to Silverton. While you are there make sure to do Engineer Pass. Then You should be going over to Ophir pass. Have fun. The beauty is stunning going forward.

Stayed in Salida many nights while doing some skiing up at Monarch pass, used to ride some of the trails with my brother when he lived in Co. Springs. Beautiful country!

That really is some beautiful country around Salida and the Gunnison River valley. Some great riding and 4 wheeling down around there. Lake City now for some of the most beautiful scenery you will see and ride. I am enjoying your TAT trip immensely.

Welcome to the old days of big twin (and other big bikes of that time) riding. Remember well the days before tubeless tires were invented. Even cars, if you did your own repairs, had to hassle with pinching tubes every now and then. One of those few times when the "good Ole Days" weren't always as "good" as they could have been. Love watching you back on a bike more, no matter what you're riding on (surface wise that is).

Soooooo, my man & I practiced changing out a tire on his bike to put on 50/50s & removing his street tires. It was really difficult at our house! I can only imagine the challenge in the field. Breaking the bead wasn’t too bad, but getting the tire over the rim? Ugh🤪. Good job! I actually would have loved seeing the video of you guys doing it from start to finish🤩

Ah yes, high country meanders. Y'all should have brought fishing poles, there's likely some good trout in that creek. Also... don't mess with CO rainstorms, they usually have a significant gust front coming out from them. Nearly got blown off the road by one outside of Antonito CO. That, and they spit lightning, sometimes well away from the rain.

I love the mountain towns of CO but there is something about Lake City that makes it one of my favorite places. Not so touristy and more down to earth. Also, a ton of great trails in the area.

You are a true motorcycle rider, if - you drove in bad weather and heavy rain, too. - you fixed a flat tyre - fixed a broken engine, a broken drive chain, etc. - help yourself, to reach the next hospital, because needed or emergency. I have got, and fixed all four. So Adam, welcome to the club.

It looked like a tornado cut that creek out. You know , I'm surprised that a Jeep can make that trip. I always thought the TAT was a 2 wheels only trail. I know it's a big deal having a chase vehicle along.

Those "meanders" get cut into the valley over time. A particularly heavy rain (or snowmelt) will sometimes create an oxbow, where the creek diverts across a loop instead of following it around. That, and beavers like to cut and drag the aspens to dam up the creek, and create a lake.
