I got a free Lathe!!

I got a free lathe for my garage. It's a small 3 jaw lathe but came with everything needed to machine small parts.

That is a interesting lathe in that there appears to be no apron rack and only a lead screw for carriage movement. many budget machines have this feature. For free that is a really good lathe or seems to be and looks extremely solid for its size. I have not even seen this brand before but I would use it in a pinch for sure.

Yeah it only has a threading feed, all of the extra gears for whatever pitch thread I want to cut. Certainly not a very capable machine but like you said I couldn’t pass it up for free lol. I’ll have a good lathe and mill some day!

I was a machinist for about 10 years. Operated manual mills and lathes up to 60” swing but yes if you’ve never ran one before I agree definitely read up a bit on it!

Yep it came with a tailstock with a center and drill chuck

Your turrning tools are gonna get all magnetic and then all your fine steel chips are gonna stick to them

Never even thought about that! I’ll have to get a demagnetizer if it becomes a problem.
