Arthur is what you make him, he can be an outlaw with a heart of gold or a callous SOB… how you play will effect some story elements of the game, you’ll get some cutscenes or miss them depending on which side you choose and also alter how other characters perceive you. It’s a long game, but it’s worth doing both, I wonder which way you’ll ultimately lean for this play through. Follow your own heart and all that, as you’ll get people complaining either way though, so just do what you want.

That’s kind of you to say, thanks, but when reading your reply I’m now noticing I made classic blunder of mixing up effect and affect and I’m hitting myself! Oh and by saying it’s worth it to do both, I mean it’s worth playing the game aiming for higher honour, and playing a separate new game with lower honour. For first play through I mostly aimed for high honour, but did enjoy antagonising some characters in camp which isn’t very honourable!

I would only suggest that while most players tend toward high honor, and the game leads you in that direction for the most part, playing exclusively honorably will mean that you miss a lot of Arthur's funniest voice lines. Definitely do what you feel, and don't feel as if you have to strictly play one style the entire time.

I respectfully disagree with this. While you do control Arthur in free mode gameplay, you do not always control what he says and does in the story. He is his own character after all and he has a personality that was set and stone long before we had access to the game. We should not be pretending like Arthur is us, he is him, and we should always do what we think HE would do at the time. If we were making decisions based on what we would do personally, then I take it we wouldn’t be robbing and killing to begin with…

When you pick up a new gun from a dead enemy, Arthur drops the gun he had equipped, but the gun he drops isn’t lost. You can retrieve the gun he dropped at any time from your saddle again. In short, don’t be afraid to pick up any gun you find. You don’t lose your old gun. Same goes for when you find hats.

An incredible detail about Arthur's diary is that the detail in the drawings of animals and plants is affected by what you do the first time you interact with it, so if you only study one animal it will be little detailed, but if you study, kill and skin the animal, its drawing will be more detailed (The diary is updated every time you sleep, die or there is a timejump after a mission)

The horse was following you because it was the one you bonded with during the bounty. When you whistled for the horse you were riding the other one was close enough to hear it too so it came on over. You should sell the horse you don't want at the stable or instruct it to stay of flee. When you can't fit any more in your satchel eat some of your stuff, always keep your cores full, same goes for your horse. You can clean yourself and your horse in a river until you get the right equipment or go for a bath/change you clothes. Don't donate everything to camp, when you're out by yourself you can cook the stuff you keep and eat it yourself, craft explosives, arrows, different ammo etc as long as you have the materials. The mechanics of this game are super deep.

The fact that it took over 30 minutes of the video to leave the camp at the start is everything I have come to love about your content haha. Same with chilling in Valentine for a while after. Just vibing, exploring, and slowly taking in everything the world has to offer there (and seeing how excited you are about it all too), is so amazing. We get to learn so much additional background on the world and its characters in moments like that. Also, gotta add that you have a very pleasant to listen to reading tone and pace, that makes seeing you explore all the text-based articles all the more enjoyable Your horse's name is awesome! Very majestic. Also, never knew you had a pet rabbit before. Cooper is such a cute little rabbit name Also a few quick quality of life tips: For upgrades like the satchels or bandoliers, once you own them, you permanently get its improvement, even if you don't have it equipped. So you don't have to pick and choose which satchel to get its benefit, for example. Then for the menu: in this game, if you hold down the pause button, it'll go straight to the map! Instead of having to pause, then select map. And if you ever find yourself deep in the menu, you can hold B and it'll back you out of all of it, instead of having to go back one page at a time Oh also, I'm glad you got a horse reviver.... always, always, always have at least one of those on you. Don't be like me without one, and have a small fall, that snowballs into a large tumble off a cliff, and have to leave your well-bonded horse to die 😅

Tip: Don’t skip things in the Journal just because it may sound like something you’ve already heard. Arthur may have added more of his own thoughts plus what he may say to Dutch for instance might not be how he records his thoughts about the conversation in his journal!

Tip : sometime later in the game there’s gonna be something called ‘companion activities’ side missions in camp coloured in white, make sure you do them when you see them. They flesh out the characters.

It introduces you to the Honour system. You killed him, so you gained negative honour. There is a theory about who he really is/was, but I won't say anything more than that.

2:30:00 having a temporary horse is good for hunting. Especially when you're trying to upgrade the satchels. You can load up both horses with pelts much faster than just having 1 horse. Granted, the trade-off is having to feed them both. I just leave temp horse in camp when I'm not hunting.

Once you craft all of the satchels, you can make the Legend of the East satchel. It increases your capacity for everything to 99. Well, most everything. The improvements to camp at Pearson's wagon are only aesthetic, but I always do them anyway. The improvements to camp from the ledger actually do improve the camp, though. And you basically buy fast travel for Arthur. lol.

Sad fact: Uncle's original VA for the game died during production, so when you and Hosea go to that spot for hunting, O'Creagh's Run, that's the VA of Uncle's name in his memory. He's done all the singing parts for Uncle as well. Also at 49:11 You did, the more Arthur does bad things like kill innocent people, horses, rob innocent people, etc,you gain bad//low honour (Red side of the honour bar). If you make Arthur do good things, like greet, saving people, etc, you gain good/high honour (White side of the honour bar) However this does not apply to missions, if you have to kill people in a mission for example like bad guys, you won't lose or gain honour

I figured out that if your character sticks around camp and does the chores for 3 days, then leaves camp for 4 days to hunt, fish, explore, etc, everyone is happy. If you return to camp on the 4th game day at around 1:30 pm your Character won't lose honor. I hunt continuously when not in camp. A surprising amount of money can be made hunting, fishing, finding random loot, and Treasure Maps leading to Treasure Hunts.

One thing to know about the bandoliers is once purchased, you get the benefit of them without having to wear them. I find they look very strange on most of Arthur's outfits as they don't sit properly on him. Just something to bear in mind.

After big gun fights if you see a glowing hat on the ground that isn't yours, pick it up and put it on once. It will be saved to your wardrobe in camp. Some of those hats are rare too. It's a free hat, and some look better then the hats at stores.

Kali, as the game takes place in 1899, the value of things to sell was extremely low, so everything you collect from bodies, from locations in general, sell everything, every penny at this time was very valuable. Instead of donating these items to camp, you can donate food so Pearson can make food for everyone. Meanwhile, with the sale of other items, you can use the money for personal purchases, such as purchasing improvements to the camp registry or even donating a portion of it to the camp.

You can never loose the weapons you aready unlocked, if you find a new gun, you can throw them on the ground leave them behind and the weapon will still be available on your horse with all the upgrades you made to it. So you don't have to be afraid of picking up and testing new guns.

Well, you missed some wonderful dialog, worthy of any movie or tv show, by killing the Man from Blackwater, but it's not necessarily the wrong choice, from Arthur's point of view. Can't have witnesses to Blackwater running around. Absolutely love that you're taking it slow - that's how you savor the ambience, talk to everyone, listen to conversations, read every scrap of paper, be alert to oddities in the environment, it's just so rich. I've been playing video games since Pong came out in the 70's, and RDR2 is by far the GOAT, I'm just obsessed with it, it's a masterpiece. Looking forward to more of your journey!

Be careful when donating items to camp. Some you need to save for crafting (see description of item). You can use ‘eagle eye’ when searching for loot, plant, animals, etc. It helps to go to first person when trying to focus on items to examine. ❤ your play through so far and, as others have said, take your time & enjoy the best video game ever!!😊

49:15 It’s all right, to see different cutscene with Jimmy Brooks at the end of “Polite Society, Valentine Style” you can replay the mission any time from the pause menu. And no need to worry about his pen, it’s just a memento and isn’t used in any crafting or companion requests (unlike some jewelry items -- so it’s worth checking their description before donating or selling valuables from your inventory; silver, gold, and platinum watches are the safest to get rid of first).

You should try hang around in camp more often there’s a lot of random character interactions and events. Listen to gang campfire stories and listen in on dialogues. Many of characters development goes on there and sometimes tell their backstories and all that.

When hunting you can store up to 3 animals on the horse 2 small like the turkey and 1 big like dears and such plus when taking them to Pearson you don't need to carry them over to him you can leave them on the horse and just hand them in at his station

Yeah, it’s 7 x Flat Pelts, 1 x Large Animal Pelt as you’ve said, they’re always the ones that you have to Roll Up like Bears, Gators etc 👍🏽.

Hello, Kali. Legend of the East satchel is the most valuable satchel because it greatly expands the carrying capacity for all item types to 99. If you want to craft this satchel you'll need to craft all satchels. You can buy leather working tools after the mission Money landing and other sins-1. You also need to get perfect pelts to do satchels.

I freakin Love how much u invest urself in game, ideal playthrough on YT. Btw Kali, Greet Greet Antagonize prompts some of the funniest interactions in the game so try it out too. RDR2 is the most alive, detailed open world ever so treat it as such. This game is meant to be played slowly and camp is the heart of the game

Here’s my running commentary & tips as follows 👊🏽: 6:30 2:37:46 So the Camp has 3 Icons in Top Right: Cross = Medicine/Tonics, Bullet = Ammo, Spoon = Food/Meat. There’s 3 Levels to tell you if Arthur needs to restock. [Red] = Restock ASAP, [White] = Restock Soon & [Yellow] = FULL. Until you unlock the Ledger which will be in an upcoming mission, you won’t be able to pay to restock Medicine & Ammo just yet but the Spoon Icon, you might able to get that to White or Yellow by donating Meat to Pearson otherwise you may have to wait for Ledger access. Also: Top $ Suitcase Icon = Camp Funds Bottom $ Wallet: = Arthur’s $ Keep any Valuables/Items that say “Can be Used in Crafting” but you can sell any that just say “Can be Sold/Sold for Cash”, items needed for crafting will be for future Talismans/Trinkets. 16:39 Love Bearded Arthur, also love giving him a fancy twirly Mustache. If you have Arthur’s Hair & Beard grown out, you can then go to a Barber who can style Arthur’s Hair & Beard in different ways. You can buy Hair Tonics from General Store or Chemist to help grow Arthur’s Hair & Beard quicker too. 18:18 You found my favourite chore to do in the whole game, Chop Firewood. Also this Thoroughnred Racehorse is one of the Best horses in game. I mean you can own others but this one will do the job and no doubt, The “White Arabian Mafia” will bully…I mean suggest to you (lol) to go tame it, by all means try White Arabian out. Main reasons I dislike it, It’s too small a horse for Arthur, looks like he’s riding a pony. They are prone to be the most nervously skittish horses in the game, not always but most times I’ve used them. Lastly and is the main reason, White Arabian is a clone of Dutch’s horse, The Count but his is a Albino Arabian so coat is shade slighter darker than White but still looks like Dutch & Arthur would be twinning anytime they ride out together lol. Either way, that’s my personal opinion so if you feel up to taming it, go for it and try it out 👍🏽. 2:59:00 I’m so glad you’ve adjusted to using the Wheel way quicker than I’ve seen others who took awhile. I guess playing RDR1 first really helped you in that regard. Speaking of RDR1, be interesting to get your thoughts as you’re now playing RDR2, it seems as though you’re embracing knowing the future events for OG game and picking up subtle details with RDR1 character dynamics and what led each to how things turn out in 1911. I'd love to add my comments about why I think 1911 went that way in the next episode since after reading the newspaper 👀🧐 But i'm about to release a post about today's episode. It was definitely an accident putting 3 episodes together right away lol.
