@@kaliwali I tend to be the same way in open world games. I had a serious problem making progress in Skyrim and Horizon. Skyrim, with its dynamic random quests was really bad as I always want to do every side quest. In Horizon, I'd go off randomly climbing a mountain to see what's up it.

For the optional objective on the Lenny mission, "Catch Lenny in the act," it's similar to what happened when you barged in on those two people, but it happens in the third stage of the mission so they both look like Lenny.

Legendary animals stay legendary, so you can paint them up with deadeye, let loose, and still get the legendary pelt, but with all other animals, to keep the original 1, 2, or 3 star pelt condition, you have to hit them with a head or lung shot with the weapon recommended to get a clean kill on them (you also get more meat from higher stars, and meat is the best for filling all cores).

The poison arrow can get every animal perfect except the small ones. It also kills every legendary animal in 1 shot. The only two needed weapons for all animals perfect are Bow and Varmint rifle.

This was an amazing episode. That Lenny mission is so iconic that it has a fandom within a fandom. IMO, it's even funnier if they capture you (don't worry, it's just a fine, and Lenny pays it anyway). And yeah, finding the gunslingers is well worth it, some for the story, and some for little extra stuff as well. And one of the things I really love about this game is, as you said, it feels so alive, the characters are so well developed. Like Uncle, he was in just a couple of scenes in RDR2, but now we see him everywhere. BTW. Sometimes, after listening to his bawdy songs, Arthur will comment: "You dirty old man..." Oh, and for an advice, clean your weapons regularly (yourself or at the gunsmith), buy special ammo, and upgrade your weapons when you get the chance. These little things really stack up. Like she thought the guys she killed were the law but they were just civilians who got killed by other "strangers". There was even a "son" dead in the middle.

I wish she could use the lasso by just pressing circle when equipped (it's circle in playstation so I don't know in her case) because it can really help to avoid some devastating catastrophic events like feeling that to survive she have to kill a red dot and feel bad later haha like the Mexican guy 😔

Another great video! You are one of the more sensible and thorough playthroughs I've watched. 01:30:30 - At Castor's Ridge, was a father and his two sons building a house and defending themselves against outlaws. This was one of the more wholesome and satisfying random encounters in the game. This was actually a unique random encounter where you can see progress being made the more times you visit. Shame that the family died. Tip: Whenever you see a white dot on your compass, the game wants you to get involved. As soon as you see the dot, quickly investigate before it's too late. There are a couple other progressive random encounters like Castor's Ridge in the game that you should visit multiple times when you find them.

Make sure you hang around camp more. There are lot of character moments, random events, special missable companions missions and dialogue that fleshes out characters & also lots to interact with. It definitely is the heart of this game similar to the Normandy but even more detailed.

Great video as always! You should always use the eagle eye when looting any buildings or sites that you find so that you don't miss anything important. Exp:At the Old Tomb there is more things to find by the skulls where you found the viking helmet. For the Legendary animails you only have to use eagle eye and follow the tracks and inspect the clues. Don't worry about the Legendary pelts, they will always be perfect no matter how much led you shoot in to them =) (Btw don't forget to "Study" every "new" animal that you see and Arthur will sketch them out in his journal. If you pause the game and go to Progress and Compendium you will find information about the animals you already hunted. Such as what weapon and arrows to use for a clean kill and higher chance of getting that perfect pelt off of them. (This info will allso be shown in a info prompt after you have studied the animal.) Again great video, can't wait to see what you get up to the next time.😁

As far as the Legendary Animals go : they are all around the map. Once you kill them , go to the FENCE first to sell it. Then go to the Trapper. Once at the FENCE sometimes it may say you need the the legendary animal & something else that can be discovered all over the map. After the fence go to trapper and trade in all your pelts. One important thing also be sure to give Pearson Everything he wants so you can get your Legends Of The East Satchel.

Quick and easy hunting guide for ya to get perfect pelts/parts: - Whenever you focus on an animal with L2, it should show a star rating for them in the lower right corner, 1-3 stars. If the stars don't show, you gotta study the animal. And if you're too far to study, you should have binoculars in the item wheel you can use to study them from range - Only 3 star animals can give you a perfect pelt - To get a perfect pelt, you have to kill the animal in one shot, ideally to the head, and with the appropriate weapon. I won't spoil and will allow you to experiment to figure out what works for which animals. But for example, had that elk near the end been a 3-star, you would have received perfect parts. The compendium will give you lots of tips for this - If you're having trouble getting certain animals to stay still to get a good shot, you can let them run away, and just start tracking their trail like in the deer-hunting mission until you come across them standing still - And then to use the pelt in crafting, you can just sell / donate it to Pearson / the Trapper and they'll keep in in their reserve to be used for their items when you need it There's still lots more to discover with hunting, and you'll develop your own tricks and strategies. I just wanted to give the basics to get you started without taking away from the joys of discovery. Hope this helps!!

Here is something that comes from someone who played this amazing game for YEARS since it came out and STILL didn't know till now that can improve significantly your immersion quality: You dont have to steal horses or pay for fast travel when finding yourself without a horse. Yes you CAN actually take a horse without a saddle in camp but for some reason the game seems bugged. (I think your game is bugging a lot actually but it's probably the auto save mixing with the manual one idk) You can simply ask for a ride from strangers passing by on focusing into them, pressing to call out to stop. If they stop you go in front of them and press to ask for a ride if they could get you there for free. But be polite of course, they will kick you out if you're rude our violent and if you unholster a gun they will probably feel uneasy haha This can work in horses, carriages, wagons too... The good thing about these interactions is the possibility to just relax and enjoy while the person drive you there. Maybe to read a newspaper or the journal, maps, cleaning guns I guess... Even talk to passengers aboard. But mainly due to Arthur so SO drunk that he can't even get on his horse. So the ride is recommended 😂 Sorry for the long bible here haha but I just want to help you feel immersed as possible to your best experience and enjoy with you 🤠💚 (Edit me here) Apparently taking a ride with strangers only work with vehicles. Not just on a horse, in this case it's easier to make them paying attention to you to other stuff and steal their horse.

When you do get a legendary animal pelt make sure you take it to the trapper rather than camp. Pearson can't do anything with it, only the trapper will pay you for the pelt and craft clothes (if you want). The trapper icon is a little black pawprint, but you have to get quite close before it will show up on your map.

Shooting's a little different in this game. When you aim in with a weapon, you'll notice a translucent circle around your point of aim that gets smaller the longer you aim, representing the area the bullet can hit. The smaller the circle the more accurate your shot will be, so spamming shots or "quickscoping" doesn't work as good as in RDR. It's best to take the time it takes for the circle to close dragging your dot to the head before pulling the trigger when you're not using deadeye.

If it makes you feel any better, the guy you had a shooting competition with isn’t dead 😅 When you knock somebody out, they don’t die unless you knock them out multiple times. They’ll end up waking up and feeling confused (You can tell if they’re dead by aiming you gun at their body, if the dot is still red, they’re alive. If it’s grey, they’re dead)

Graphically, one of my favorite parts of this game is the lighting! It adds such an incredible atmosphere as you explore. As you already saw with the creepy forest at night LOL. Seeing a thunderstorm rolling in looks and feels exactly as it does in real life. It’s so good. Also, I’ve put over 200 hours into this game and never found that viking helmet that Arthur can wear hahaha. Just goes to show how deep and expansive this game is I think next time you go grocery shopping, you need to buy a case of blackberries in Arthur’s honor. For valiantly searching despite coming across cougars, O’Driscolls, mad preachers, and all other manner of nastiness in them trees 🤣 I also think we established the baseline level of craziness we're gonna come to expect in this series in that one sequence of: mad preacher in the forest --> immediate transition to you mid-chase with a bunch of O'Driscolls --> Running over the guy's horse, and having him get up so angry that he one-shots his own horse without thinking twice 🤣 That was legendary hahaha

1:50:26 You saw her when you bring back first bounty to sheriffs office. Tip: You don't need to use "proper weapons" for every legendary animals. They will be all perfect condition whatever weapon you use. Tip 2: You can customize your outfit how ever you like. You don't need to wear prepared outfits. And don't forget to store on your horse more than one outfit for every weather condition.

Another little parcel of knowledge from a fellow Red Dead fanatic: Aurthur has "cores" and then "rings" of health, stamina, & deadeye. The rings drain first when in use (deadeye, sprinting) or taking damage (health)... Once the rings are drained, the cores will begin to drain. [edit] having full cores increases the rate of those rings self regen. Cores auto deplete over time & will increase their depletion rate due to environmental factors such as dangerous weather, hunger, fatigue, poison, venom, ect ect. I personally on my playthrough just tried to keep the cores completely full & would eat/drink items to refill those rings as soon as they were low. Just some friendly insights. You do you, it's YOUR adventure. Enjoying the channel, fun to watch.

​@@kaliwali Tip about refilling cores and rings: there’re food consumables (9 o’clock in items wheel menu) and there’re tonics (10, 12 and 2 o’clock). Food replenishes inner cores, special golden food fortifies them additionally. Tonics replenish and fortify different outer rings (10 - health, 12 - stamina, 2 - dead eye), and all-purpose Miracle Tonics affect all 3 rings simultaneously. Also to study animals from a distance you can use scoped weapons instead of binoculars. Just be careful not to pull a trigger (R2 instead of R1) accidentally :)

Howdy Kali, Yes you can get a coffee percolator at the general store ( catalog ). You still need to do some main missions to unlock certain things ( H and LS ). After doing these missions, you can explore more. An important item you will need is the Springfield rifle with a medium scope for hunting perfect pelts ( add a scope to all rifles help with distance kills ), the Springfield is good for large animals like deer, bear, wolves, cougar, elk and so on. The Repeater is good for medium animals, such as coyote, fox, farm goats and sheep. The Varmint rifle is good for small animals, such as raccoons, rabbit, turkey, large birds and so on. You will need to craft Small Game Arrows for petite animals, such as snakes, squirrel, small birds and so on. Studying animals with your binoculars will tell you the best weapons. Once you have studied an animal, you only have to aim at it to know it's star rating. Any Recipes you get, you have to read them to learn them. Cooking Big Game meat with oregano, mint or thyme will give you Fortified cores( do not need food cooking recipes, just meat and herbs ). At 23:00 where the waterfall is, there is a very good wild horse in this area you can catch for your harem of horses. You can shoot the skulls at the Viking tomb. Pelts are graded - poor, good, perfect. Only perfect pelts are used for crafting at Pearson or Trapper. Poor and good pelts can still be sold for money, at trapper and butcher, or donate to Pearson for camp funds. A good area for Blackberry is from camp to Cumberland falls. Yes, if you die, you lose your pelts. You do not lose Legendary pelts, they go directly to the trapper, so you lose out on money for the pelt, but not the crafting aspects. If you are to far from your horse, just set up your wilderness camp or sleep at home camp, and your horse will appear ( usually works ). Red dots on your radar are enemies/predator's. You can feed brush and pat ( press LS ) while on your horse ( as long as you are not moving fast ), Open your horse wheel to feed and brush when mounted on horse. If you Tap the left D pad button ( hold for journal ), you can open the Log menu. . You can clean Arthur by taking a bath ( hotel ) or go for a swim or change your outfit ( then change back ). You are doing Great, I'm enjoying you're playthrough

The Lenny mission is an all time classic.. not just in this game, but anywhere really 🤣 And the fact that you accidentally kicked it off without intending to, and ended up in the bar with them is so fitting for that mission hahaha. Now in case others haven't mentioned, about the "Catch Lenny in the Act".... so you remember that couple you walked in on in the second floor? Well you just gotta walk in on them during the sequence where everyone looks like Lenny and.... so.... it's two Lennys in there! 🤣🤣🤣 I have a feeling you're gonna be remembering that mission and laughing for a long time to come haha

Last bit, since I heard you ask in game (I'm watching as I type... only typing this cause I heard you ask out loud). In order to get perfect pelts, the animal you're hunting has to be in perfect condition to start. You can observe the animal either directly or using binos... a perfect animal will have 3 stars next to it's species name on the bottom right. You then have to use the correct weapon to take the animal or it will ruin the pelt (example: you can't use a large caliber buffalo gun on a racoon). Over shooting the animal will also damage the hide. The shot needs to be clean and from the appropriate waepon. Last good bit of info, the bow is BY FAR the best hunting weapon... as it can take all animals cleanly as long as you use the appropriate arrows for the size game you're hunting and your shot placement is good.

One nice thing is you can’t ruin the legendary animal pelts no matter what weapon you use. And even if you lose the pelt somehow it will go directly to the trapper guy. Also don’t get rid of the premium cigarettes, if you smoke then they give you a cigarette card to collect

48:04 Between it being the guy you just interacted with, him shooting his own horse and your scream... I choked on my drink and then almost laughed myself off of my chair. xD Female elk are called cows and male elk are called bulls. Interestingly when wanting to refer to a male elk the proper saying is "bull elk" and not "elk bull" which one might expect. So for example you'd say "look over there it's a bull elk!" Getting a clean kill is only one ingredient in the pursuit of getting a perfect pelt. The animal itself needs to be of perfect quality as well so there is rng involved.
