I bought a great kit with great cymbals for cheap, but it needed a little TLC. I cleaned it up and sold it on to a deserving family.

Ha! Billy Crystal--brilliant comedian. I've hear that Dave's Basement Band is pretty brilliant, too...:)

I'm only 4 minutes into the video, but I just saw the pAisTe 2oo2 hi-hats: Those alone are worth more than 200 bucks! I once had the 'Sound Edge' version; Made them look like new by means of cymbal cleaner and still got $450 NZD for them (approx. $300 USD)! This was about 9 years ago, and I'd bought them new for $600 NZD in 1992! 🙂 *Edit:* Oh wow! Those are 'Heavy' hi-hats even! 😀 I would've sold them separately and the set for the same price with some cheaper hi-hats. Tristan definitely got an amazing deal there 🙂

Thanks for watching! Yes, I figured the cymbals were probably worth about $600 just by themselves. I'm glad it's going to his son.

And lastly: I had to think of 'The Partridge Family' only very recently when a friend of mine mentioned Andy Partridge, singer and guitarist of the British band XTC! 😄

OMG! An Avanti cymbal! I wonder if that brand is as bad as the Camber cymbals? I had a crappy drum set with equally crappy Camber cymbals... hitting that 16" Camber crash was so painful to my ears and pride. It was like, "Booooooooooooong!" LOL. Well! I am shocked! That Avanti cymbal is NICE!

By the way, Remo Pin Stripe heads do *not* have any oil in them! That 'rainbow' effect is caused by the way the light is being reflected by the head's two layers. Apparently *none* of Remo's dual-layer heads have any oil in them, unlike several models made by Evans 🙂

Fascinating! I did not know that. Thanks for the info!
