I had a membrane sweep at 39 weeks as well. I’d been having contractions for a couple days and I wasn’t making any changes. I was already at 4cm and 90% effaced. I had my sweep at about 9:30 am and I was in active labor and 8 cm by midnight. I’m so glad I had it done. I wasn’t in a hurry to get my baby out but I’d been in so much pain the last couple days I was ready. I was only at the hospital for an hour and a half by the time baby was born. I only had to push 2-3 times. It totally worked for me. Hahah. At least I think.

I am currently 38 week and 2 days and I was 2,5 cm and 80 % effaced at 37 + 5. My obgyn told me I could have a membrane sweep at my next appointment. I will be 38 + 5 and I think I am gonna do it....Hope it will work!!

I’ve been in pain for a whole month 😩 I’m currently 38 weeks and I’ll be having my membrane sweep tomorrow and I’m so ready cause this contraction are no joke, so I’m excited to see if it’s successful. Currently 3 1/2 cm and 70% phase so I hope this gives my body a push

I got my membrane sweep today at 36 weeks now I'm contracting alot of pressure in lower half all my babys born at 37 weeks . 5th baby

Why intervene at all? Medication or premature forced stripping of membranes .. still interfering with natural progression. Body isn’t ready .. sweeping membranes is brutal.

Actually membrane sweep can reduce the need for other medical interventions such as forceps, oxytocin, etc. during labor and delivery.

Cause some people had pregnancy until like 41 weeks ECT and the stress on the baby can cause meconium and send the baby to have some issues after birth . Everyone has different reasons .

Sweeping the membranes is very beneficial!!! Idk what she's talking about unless she wasn't lucky like the rest 🤣😂🤣
