I just traded my MT10 in on a new Super Duke Evo. I loved the MT10 and it was between this one and the KTM but I went with the KTM because of superior gas mileage and tech. Who knows, if I get a chance to demo one of these I may change my mind but I will have a diff experience for a little while on the KTM. The MT10 is a great machine no matter what and I proved that to myself when test riding. I was able to take out the Street Fighter V4S and thought the MT10 was better, more comfortable, certainly more reliable and way more affordable.
@Builtmoto2 жыл бұрын
I test rode one of the new EVO and loved everything about it but was very upset that in order to get access to the additional features like the cruise control and quick shifter you had to pay a extra $1100 for the tech pack

@@Builtmoto Yes, that is no bueno but I was able to negotiate the tech pack to be included in the deal. I also bought the panniers and fly screen so it should be a fun bike to tour a little bit on. The only nail biter for me is reliability which Yamaha cannot be beat. I have had KTM's in the past that were trouble free so fingers are crossed. I pick it up next Tuesday. wind protection and high top speed but you are gaining usable mid range power (not that either of them have bad mid range but I can be in 6th gear and decide I want to go around and the bike is fine to just open the throttle where as the R1 would kind of lug down) but the comfort that you gain from making the switch especially if you ride it often for work or leisure and not hard pushing it on back roads or track days then I will totally recommend the MT-10 or even the S1000 single R. I ride back and forth to work and the fact that my lower back does not hurt as bad and my legs have not become a well done piece of meat is what made me make the switch.

It is good at power wheelies! I am waiting for my exhaust and tune before I start to do clutch up wheelies just because the lower RPM do not have as much torque as my MT-09 had

Which is better, zh2 ‘23 or mt10 sp ‘22? Planning to get my 1st litter bike next month. Hope everyone could help me decide. TIA!
@Builtmoto2 жыл бұрын
so I rode a 22 Zh2 and the bike had more than enough power but it was HOT when you were not moving, the seat made some noise when moving around and I just feel like the fit and finish on the ZH2 was not near what the MT-10 is. I think it is an amazing bike and I have not heard any complaints about them but my two options were between the KTM 1290 duke R EVO and the MT-10SP. I think all of the new hyper naked bikes are great so it just comes down to what you are using it for and which you prefer the front end on.

Congrats! I really like this new MT-10 especailly the SP version. Have you had a chance to compare the MT-10 to the new XSR900? Which one is easier/less aggressive in town? I only rode a Moto Guzzi V7 for 18 months, not sure if I can handel any of these bikes.
@Builtmoto2 жыл бұрын
So I have not rode a new XSR900 but my last bike was a 2021 MT-09 and I will say that the MT-10 is a much easier bike to ride than the MT-09 just due to the fact that the 900cc in-line 3 is a torque monster and wants to wheelie all the time where the MT-10 you have to rev past 7000 RPM to get the wheel to stand up. At least in stock configuration, my MT-09 was tuned and loved to stand up until 3rd gear and I assume the MT-10 will be the same way once it is tuned but I still believe that the MT-10 is a easier bike to ride than the MT-09

I just got the regular 2022 raven black mt10 same story with me was on the list since January and dealer finally got one in love this thing its everything I imagined and more but the downside of getting a brand new bike/new generation is waiting for aftermarket parts to be manufactured, I just received an email from DNA air filters today they are going to be releasing an air filter for the 22 very soon they said keep and eye on their social accounts. So far all I can find is the akro pipe and barely can find them in stock at that the link pipes are sold out everywhere in the us and I don't see any other options for link pipes sadly.... I might take my muffler off like you did I was considering that to see if it would make much difference in the mean time im at about 260miles so far haven't been able to put the miles I want to on it since it rains every single day in Florida this time of year
@Builtmoto2 жыл бұрын
Taking the rear muffler off does give More noise out of it! From what i have seen the leo vince link pipe will work on the new bikes but i have not tried that yet. I ordered a Austin Racing exhaust but it is backed out 6 weeks from time of order. I had almost 1000 miles on the bike within the first two weeks but now it is 110 degrees F here in dallas and i am not riding itin that! Ride safe man.
@psyfertech2 жыл бұрын
@@Builtmoto awesome! im taking mine off after work today then it doesn't look that bad either with it off. And cool is the austinracing exhaust one whole piece or do you still need a link pipe to connect it? I was wondering man Im like damn can't I just get previous get akro link pipe and exhaust it literally doesn't look any different I even went as far as pulling up the oem parts diagram between last generation and this generation and the only different I see is the cat Is slightly bigger and the butterfly valve is in a different orientation but knowing my luck ill spend all that money and it won't fit so I guess im just going to wait it out. I really considered the Austin racing its probably the best looking one but im thinking it might be a bit too loud for my liking
@Builtmoto2 жыл бұрын
The Austin Racing is the one piece that deletes the cat and the muffler all in one and I believe that the Akra will fit because it is still the same engine and frame so all mounting locations are the same. As for the butterfly valve you will just have to get a servo buddy ($75 USD) and it should run great. There are a couple guys in the MT-10 Facebook group that have already done that and none of them said it was a issue.
@psyfertech2 жыл бұрын
@@Builtmoto oh that is nice man did you go with the all black Austin racing shorty that one looks dope. And wow that is good info I need to join those groups because I have been researching in the fz10 forum and nobody has mentioned that as far as I could find about cross compatibility I can't wait for the dna filter to be released I like to try getting mine tuned with the filter too so I don't have to go back later and get it touched up
@Builtmoto2 жыл бұрын
Yes I went with the full titanium low mount with a black cab and the group is called Yamaha MT-10 Owners on Facebook. And I will be having mine tuned as soon as the exhaust gets here but I am going to stick with the stock air filter just so I can keep the yamalube 10 year or 100k engine and trans warranty.

I chose the MT-10 just due to the electronics that it offers. Don't get me wrong the MT-09 is an amazing bike and I still love it but all the electronics that the 10 offers is what swayed me.
