Excellent! I use a TC Electronic amp sim that goes into a Harley Benton 100W power amp, then into a ZT Lunchbox cab. The whole shebang probably weighs less than a Les Paul!

Sweet! Yeah when I think back at how much my backline would have weighed back in the day, ooft!

A mere 41 years after I did the first one - damn that makes me feel auld!

I've still got my Badger amp from the early 1980s. Your first amp reminds me of it.

Sounds great Dunsy. Didn’t expect to see the artist formerly known as Sticker Guitar at the end there 😁

“With age comes wisdom …” (Johnny English - Reborn) - a physically lightweight backline which more than punches its weight makes perfect sense, Dunsy. Better than 😩 there goes my back line! 👍

100%! I still can't believe that I used to carry all that stuff back in the day. Getting older fair gives you a perspective on what your back (and ears) can handle.

@@DunsysGuitarWorld Sold my Carlsbro combo not long ago for that reason! Had it since school, so was quite attached to it. Bought it having been recommended by Brian Robertson, in BEAT Instrumental - you’ll remember the magazine. Never did sound like Robbo but it was a great amp. Gone down from 60w to 30w now - still plenty loud enough for my needs and light enough for my back! 👍

Definitely sounds the business, Dunsy! Good on ya! I still love my tube combos, but I can't begrudge you a great setup that serves you well. Cheers!

My first amp, bought in 1968, was a Gibson Thor bass amp. Although I wasn't really a bass player, (I had a Kay Speed Demon) I'd bought a Japanese Teisco bass to impress a girl I was sweet on who loved bass. Didn't work, she wasn't interested. The Thor weighed as much as a Buick. Later on in the 70's I used to loan it to a bass player friend. One snowy January night at a jam session in which much beer was involved, we didn't want to carry it back to the car in the snow so we left it at the drummer's house where we were jamming. I continued to think it was safe there. Imagine my surprise when I found the drummer and his wife had gotten a divorce, he left the house and she sold it. Otherwise, I'd probably still have it. Dunsy, nice to see you have the late Ed Cassidy of Spirit drumming for you.

As heavy as a Buick, lol excellent! Man, I think the bass maybe wasn’t for you. I’ll let Drummer Dave know that he’s rocking that Spirit look!

I’m looking at lighter alternatives to my lovely old peavey heritage vtx or relying on back line. Look forward to a review of your new gear. Looking and sounding great on the stage! Cheers.

I’m really impressed with it so far - got a couple of gigs coming up soon and will try and get a better sound mic for those for the video.

Sounds good! That fender doesn't look as cool as your LP's and Melody Makers though! 😜But yeah, great sound and seems like your rig has plenty of punch and power as well as being practical. 👍

Man, I’m always torn at leaving the Les Paul and home and heading out with a Fender! I’m just really liking the Mustang at the moment.

Great live tone ! I think the story goes that Blackstar copied the original amp 1 circuit and released that pedal.
@DunsysGuitarWorld3 ай бұрын
Definitely similar - I actually take both to gigs and could use the BluGuitar as a backup if ever needed. Having the built in effects on the Blackstar is great though.
