I support small and Local they are there for us. We need to be there for them. When they leave your city or town that’s when your cities n town start to decline . I find ironic people go to the small and local places asking for donations for their fundraisers for, sports teams, ,etc then turn around and buy online. I would rather pay a little more and support the businesses in my greater community and keep local people employed.

Many years ago, I was in the bank to open an account, and while waiting during the process, I saw a guy come in with stacks and stacks of $1 bills. He explained to the teller that he and his wife stash any $1 they get from change (sometimes $5, too), or just spare change, etc. They do this allll year, so that when it’s time for holiday shopping, they bring the bills & change into the bank to exchange for bigger bills. And voila- a huge boon to their Christmas spending if it doesn’t pay for everything outright.

I read a similar story where a family saved all their change all year and then at the end of the year exchanged it at CoinStar for an Amazon gift card. Used that for Christmas gifts.

We have a change jar. . E very month we cash in and out it in a saving account. It's like the old Christmas clubs. Any other extra money we get like selling scrap we put in that account. We pay off any credit card balance each month as Bill arrives and yes! you are exactly right! This year, had enough points for $425 gift to a family member's fav restaurant. They've made it a family tradition to treat their whole fam (8 adults plus littles) to dinner out on Christmas Eve on us. And with another card, had accumulated enough points for an $800 card credit. Talk about easing the strain of gifts!!! Tho granted, we had a lot of inside renovations this year; won't be that many to convert come next year. Wonderful video and ideas, Sara. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. 🌲

I do the same thing with my Amazon Panel rewards, NCP, Fetch, Rakuten and Ibotta. It was great to buy a new laptop for myself as a birthday/early Xmas gift with half of my yearly earnings. I take my change weekly to Walmart on weekend and use at the self checkout to pay towards groceries.

I went thrifting for new kid clothes We paid about 80 for 285. I am teaching my oldest to cook his favorites as a gift while he's on leave, he's just completed BMT and hates the military food. Hell be home this year then gone for training and deployment.

Way to go! I am very impressed 😊. I do this all time getting free gift cards by using my credit card to pay for everything. I pay it in full each and every month. I love getting free money. 😊

I only spent $1.00 on decorations. I used my last year ones. I saw a candle that change colors and it was just $1.00. My insurance company sent me a $60.00 gift card to Marshalls and I will be buying gifts with that🤗.

I am very good at using credit cards for rewards but not for groceries. I tried again last month because discover offered me 6% back on grocery stores. Well i went over by $80.00 last month. It drives me crazy to keep track of my grocery money when it is not cash. I go to so many stores in my town to get the best deals at each. Using cash just makes it easy to quit when the money is gone. I learned my lesson again. Went back to a certain amount of cash each week again this month, even though the 6 % lasts until 1000. Or last of the year. I did get 20. In rewards but ended up 60. More spent. 🌞

If you check your quarters and if you see the face going the other way you can take it to the rare coin shop and receive $100.00. So far I have about 12 and I will use the money for a down payment on a vehicle.
