I love the bangs on her! And I love the fact that the hairdresser straight up told her she couldn't go lighter. I've had friends who had their hair DESTROYED by "professionals" because they wanted a result that simply wasn't doable with their hair and it's nice to see someone say the right thing. Not everything is possible on everyone when the hair has already gone through chemical treatments and I wish more hairdressers were honest about that.

I'm a stylist and that's one thing I have to tell people time and time again. They'll come in with previously processed very dark hair and ask for white, silver or even a pale blonde balayage in one day. I have to explain to them realistically what they can achieve in what time frame. I had a girl the other day with long beautiful hair wanting to chop it off because a salon gave her a one visit pale blonde balayage that ruined her hair. When I started washing it it tangled up immediately it was so damaged. Hate to say but you're right, there are a lot of "professionals" that either don't know what they're doing or they just care about making money, not the long term result

It’s an all over single process application. This is how we are taught in beauty school. I’ve worked in many salons in nyc, Thailand, and Atlanta and California. They all do it this way or bottle application. It’s very difficult to get the root of the hair without saturating the scalp. I do agree that u can prevent touching the scalp doing high lights or ombré . But for a single process application, that’s how u do it. She’s also probably using like a manic panic temporary color stain, which is not really harmful to the hair or skin
