As a fellow south Asian. I can definitely relate to the wanting to distance yourself from your race aspect. I try really hard to this day to not wear traditional clothing, to not watch most Bollywood movies (minus 3 idiots, that right there is the biggest fucking gem in all of cinema). I was currently in a similar situation with my friends.... I just stopped caring. It's really rough at the start because you will feel very lonely and scared. Also I have some mental health issues to deal with so I was scared about what would happen to me if I was very lonely. But i worked on myself and told myself they are not worthy of my time. I would say that being scared and alone for a bit is a lot better than being miserable for a long time. Also, friends will come and go. But you will be with you everyday. So try to learn more about yourself . Don't feel bad about losing friends. You will surely meet a lot more people in the future. Try to be yourself so you can meet the people who match your vibe.
