I dont know much about my ancestors but Im Fijian Indian and i was born in New Zealand, but my friends always call me white even though im brown and have Indian features, they call me whitewashed all because i was born in New Zealand. FAMILY DRAMA: its looooooong my sister and my mama had a heated argument. My sister went to store bought food. I personally don't like fruit juice but she bought it. (Fruit juice taste bad) My mom says all the time that not healthy. Also bought chocolate cornflakes and pesto in a pot. My mom got mad bc that not healhty. She says that is loaded with preservativs and sugar. Making fresh is ofc better. My sis baked a cake the day before for me and her bf. My mom saw that and was not happy. I ate tha cake, it was good. My mama was just back from vacation, so was slowy cooking from all the anger on the inside. Here she explodes. It all started bc I asked my sis to go cardio. She said no. Mama got mad that she said no. Sis said that we need to stop complaining about the fatty food she eats en drinks and that she doesnot sport. (Context: I asked her from time to time to go cardio or running. I make healthy food with lots of veggies but she almost never eats it.) I never say she is fat, I never do that, she is my older sister and i dont even think taht. It is mostly my mom. I dont really care anymore about her lifestyle bc it her life. My sister says back to mom "I am not into eating healhty and sport and fitness, its my first day of resting, leave me alone!". She did a stressful last year law exam, she was tired. Mama screams back "We do it for all best, we want the best for you!". They were tears at this point. I am just standing there. After a hot minute of fighting. SIs quikly eats and goes to her room and sleeps for the rest of the day. Mama was anger all day. Sis and I go that evening to our grandma (father side (my mom hates her)). Sis was venting about what happend. Sis also said that we never ate together like a normal family. Mama alwasys leaves after she makes diner. She also said that mama has a thin body image bc of me. I’m not a POC. I have a culture I guess, but not many in Ireland really cares about it (even though i do haha). I have NEVER felt the need to steal a culture or pretend to be from another country. I think of my culture as our mythology and language, yes, but also of what is around today. The birds. The woods. The feeling of connection with other Irish people. I still feel a sense of belonging. I am proud of being Irish. There is no need to pretend to be another culture.
