I got Cyberbullied due to my Disability...

We had our first taste of #CyberBullying 😔
Many people seem to think it is okay to call people who have a physical disability "Timmy" referring to Timmy Burch from the show ‪@southpark‬
On our most recent #TikTok post, we got THOUSANDS of comments calling Brad "Timmy" (or different variations of the name)
People even went to the extent of making video remixes overlaying Timmy's voice as Brad involuntarily moved his mouth.
This is our response to everyone who thinks this is okay...

I'm not on Tiktok, but I hear that it has a almost predatory algoritm: it is extremely good figuring out the mood of the user and feeding them content that's compatible with their mood. Also, I heard that it is not disability friendly at all: the contents of multiple people with disabilities got flagged because it was deemed inappropriate just because someone had an amputated limb!

I am so sorry this happened to you. I grew up around people who watched the show and I've heard this all my life. But I always felt part of the joke because it was from people I knew and who knew me. I never realized how truly offensive that character is to the community because when I was younger I saw him as representation in the world where there was none. I hope my rambling makes sense and I am so glad that Younger generations have more positive reflections to look at then I did keep doing the work you're doing and putting them self out there

Something I realized as I grew up , is that bullies are often victims of violence at home or school, and they attack others to feel a bit less of a victim. This is perhaps a point they never hear. We support you, and we got your back. Just know that if you're a target of these persons it has nothing to do with you. It is the pain and violence they suffer every day. We love you man!! Thank you so much for this video! What you have experienced is not acceptable at all. I have CP myself, and the worst thing about it is just all the misconspetions other people have. Last week I was at a student part with all of my friends from my university, however one of the waiters always talked to my friend instead of talking to me. I am completely able to answer all questions and recieve all information on my own, so this was really unconfortable. The worst thing happend when some of my friends were leaving the party, and I asked them what were going on. Then he asked my friends: Who are going to look after him now? I was shocked, I mean, I am a 20 years old student in a wheelchair, why do people assume that I am not able to take care of myself on my own? This makes me really upset. I hope that we together will manage to fight predjudices and spread knowledge about having a physical disability. Again, thank you for the video

I’m sorry if you were actually hurt and saddened by all of this. Some people probably did it with mean intentions. However, to be honest personally as a disabled person in a wheelchair (even though yes we don’t have the same conditions) : I do find Timmy very funny and cool ! I’m glad he is a part of the @southpark show. ! These guys are always on point. And at least in the show, if you look at Timmy stories ; they are very inspirational and funny as hell. In fact, his character is meaningful and serve the morals of the show almost like no one else ! With that said, I do regret that people only refer to him and mock others people by doing that ! But in the meantime that’s who he is. 🙂 ♿️

wow. the internet never stops surprising me. i can't believe people would be so disrespectful for no reason. I am a little curious about what you think about the south park character. normally south park does a really good job of including people from other groups in a way that is tasteful and respectful. it wouldn't surprise me if timmy was an actual person in real life that acted very similar to the characters... but maybe not. anyway, what do you think about it? have you watched any of the timmy episodes of south park? doing a reaction video on these episodes might make for a great video that would get a lot of views and would be very educational.

Ive been called timmy too and when the kinds said it i said it back to them i guess to shield the hurt it brought me. It sucks. Kids now have no morals most of them. Once in school, some kid was teasing a kid in a wheelchair with limited mobility (not sure what his condition was), I stood by for 10 seconds, then jumped over the desk and tackled that kid and beat him until he had mobility issues. I got detention for a week, did the entire detention with a proud smile. F those kids.
