Aww man i muted her reaction at the end by accident.... Sorry. I absolutely wish that I could get in and book with you. I’ve had to start over several times due to horrendous cuts or stylists being afraid to remove all of the splits and it just got worse. I have great growth rates, but trying to get someone to properly cut/trim is a whole otherworldly process.

Guys long hair with unhealthy ends is no fun. A. It's really difficult to manage your hair. B. The damage travels up the strands so it just gets worse over time. After dealing with that for a long time, you'll just want those ends gone.

People are really upset about her cut. I remember having very long hair but the stylist was not very honest with me and they clearly valued length over health. I went to another stylist because my stylist was not available; when they showed and explained the damage, I said chop it off. They lopped off 6 inches and my hair felt so good after. I never went back to my original stylist.

Your client said “my hair will grow back.” I know that’s right! Like her, I’m not afraid to get inches of damaged ends cut off because I know it will grow back. My hair will grow back healthier. Even though you cut a good bit she still had a nice length once converted back to its natural state when wet. I love how her hair turned out. I’m currently pregnant as well and been keeping my hair in two strand twists for the past 3 months or so. I had a trim a month ago but I feel the stylist didn’t care to really assess how damaged my ends were and didn’t cut as much as she should’ve. I know I’m going to need a real thorough assessment of my ends the next time I get my hair done. I would love for you to cut and style my hair!

People are so weird. So they make trifling comments, but hurt when it’s read out loud for everyone to hear how goofy stupid they sound. These are the same people who hair stay stagnant, dry, and broken up. Then keep doing the stuff that don’t work even when provide with information from someone with clear in your face results. You show everything and give guidance and always explain why you do it. Keep doing what you doing. You are appreciated.

I love that you actually cut the hair in layers (sections/parts). I've seen a lot of home stylists who just blow out the hair and then cut the see through ends in one go (white cape method?) but I always thought that was a horrible method of getting all the damaged ends cut off but when I asked about that online many people told me I was wrong.
@mickeyw5285
@mickeyw5285 6 ай бұрын
Exactly! I asked that same question and people called me ignorant lol If the hair is all the same length, like the top of the hair lines up with the length of the nape, then that method “can” work, but not everybody has that hairstyle. A lot of people have layers, either naturally or purposefully, and so doing that leaves anything above the ears neglected! Folks can understand that two 5’ people are still the same height even if one is standing on a 3’ foot box but not that the hair on your head doesn’t all line up perfectly for that to be a reliable method of trimming split ends. Yet we’re the ones wrong 🤦🏽‍♀️

I enjoy his bluntness and realism with hair. I always find it amusing when people only cut half the split ends off to retain length and I understand it’s there choice. My daughter learned the hard way and had to do a chop. I’m the type just cut off all the damage to me it’s just hair and will grow back stronger and I will try to take care of it but probably won’t and will be back for another chop. It’s crazy how people say how can a bald man cut women’s hair, how can a chick wearing a lace front tell me how to take care of my natural hair? Also, some of y’all need to understand the difference between a trim and a cut. Keep up your good work and never ever change.

Damaged length is fool's gold. Anyone that cares about their hair understands this, even if they prefer long hair. What do we look like holding on to dead/damaged things? I'm seeing this video shortly after getting a trim myself and was very surprised that we were not upgrading it to a cut since i havent kept up with regular trimming. Videos like this teache to have a little more scrutiny and be more engaged in the process when im getting a service done to my hair. I appreciate that and enjoyed this one! I also didn't mind seeing both stylists hold up a mirror to the people making rude, petty, uneducated comments on his stream simply because 'they can'. Anyway, it was an overall positive video with helpful information that i can definitely use to make more informed choices. Thanks for that and be well Narada!

I have not heat styled my hair since i did the big chop from perm last august.. I think i started having issues with my hair earlier this year because there was a time that I was not doing any with it, just had it in a puff for days not hydrating it and i believe it was due to that time period that caused the issue i have now.. I just started watching your channel, and I will say I appreciate the fact that you put healthy hair above length and style. So many times I have come across people whose hair has length but really looks bad because how damaged the hair is all because of the idea of being "bald headed" in which technically they're not, it's just shorter than what they want or used to.

I definitely understand hair health. What you are doing is correct, and my hair was just like hers. My beautician explained to me the importance of healthy hair. The healthier it is the more it will grow and it will grow faster. Only folks with barely there hair don't get it smh!

One thing that I have definitely learned in my natural hair journey is that it's really important to listen to licensed cosmetologists. And not just one, but a wide variety. Y'all are just going to have a lot more experience and and therefore knowledge about the results of all of these hair care methods. It's the same thing I do for every aspect of my life. The method is called lateral reading where you read or listen to a wide variety of experts on topics in order to get a better sense of how things are going. It's why I have hyper focused on caring for my hair rather than styling my hair. Why I never abandoned butters and oils, but learned the appropriate way to apply and use them. And why I have been able to also incorporate getting regular trims into my hair care regimen rather than hoarding hair even when it what is worn down. And why I can look at professional hair care advice with a critical eye, and decide if it applies to my hair or not. I will say this, cosmetologists who are specializing in caring for natural black hair, are ahead of every other cosmetologist in the game. I listen to these other folks for styling techniques here and there, but there's nothing like a natural black hair care cosmetologist, trichologist, chemist to help you get your life together!❤❤❤

Love, love, love this! Just to clarify, her damage wasn’t due to a particular method or product, right? It’s like 2023 was the year of the craziest splits ever!! Thanks for your content.
