When we watched the kids of that 70s show talk about sex, alot of us were kids ourselves so it didn't seem like such a big deal, but now being older listening to young girls talk about it, it just feels wrong.

im 14 and watched that 70's show growing up it's a netflix show so it probably is aimed to a younger demographic but older people who have also watched that 70s show can definitely watch it

I agree with your POV on how the younger cast didn't clique right away like the OG's did. So it does take longer to warm up to them, once they make more connections. I also initially watched for nostalgia, but i'd say out of the new cast Ozzie is my favourite.

yeah of course. i think the difference for me personally though is the acting and chemistry between the actors that felt more natural and relatable growing up. helped it feel less like words on a script written by grown adults

I've never been anywhere near a rave, but anything I've heard about them, this seems to check out. I think the fact it's illegal to begin with (I'm not sure legal raves even exist 🤷‍♀) probably ends up attracting some younger people, since they won't need to worry about being carded. All I've ever known about raves is that I do not want to be anywhere near them :p

That 90s Show shares the same universe as That 70s Show, but the tone is taken wholesale from Boy Meets World and then with a dusting of early 2000 Disney shows such as iCarly, The Suite Life, Lizzie McGuire, Hannah Montana. But, without their edge or street cred.

Correct Hyde isn't coming back due to legal reasons if you're curious to look it up but what happened was On June 17, 2020, Masterson was arrested and charged with three counts of forcible rape and has maintained his innocence. After a 2022 trial, the judge declared a mistrial after the jury was deadlocked on the charges. A new trial was set for March 2023, then rescheduled to April 2023. There was big news on him so in other words it is safe to say hide will not be coming back because of this reason and way you can say he is legally banned from the show.

My feelings watching this were kind of mixed. I was like 13-14 when I first started watching the original so there is a lot of nostalgia there. While watching this the feeling was more of, it’s not terrible but not amazing either. I thoroughly enjoyed most everything with the old cast, but the new characters I felt no real care or attachment for. I think it could get better, but it also could have been much much worse. All in all it was a mix of nostalgic laughs, mixed with a lot of meh.

The show is basically written for 16-40ish year olds. Just like That 70s Show was, it is for all audiences.

Donna/Laura is the director. I agree with you that they don't feel like friends. Possibly too many characters at once to properly develop and introduce but regardless, they didn't seem to have enough history with each other either. And yeah, a better redesign than expected, usually any kind of continuation or remake is horrible.

i haven't gotten further than the donkey Kong part so IDK if you learn it later in the video but his name is a translation of stubborn gorilla stubborn translation to ass translating to donkey, and kong is just in reference to an ape. there's better videos breaking down the development of the character, but pretty much all you need to know is that it means stubborn gorilla

I cared nothing for the new kids and kept watching for the brief appearances of the original crew. I would’ve loved to see it focused more on the original crew dealing with being “upstairs people” now and navigating parenthood with teenagers doing the same stupid things they did. But it was nice seeing red and kitty again too.

IRL I'm one year younger than the kids portrayed in "That 70's Show'". I lived in a small Nebraska town where my friends and I spent many moons in out circle, so it brought back memories. Whenever Leo is on I think what it must be like for Tommy to go home after a few hours on set to his multi-million-dollar pad. I'm not the biggest fan of Donna's hair. When Red and Kitty "go upstairs" it's take a drink time. Kitty's the best. I'm not interested enough in this to get Netflix.

41:00 see, I felt the opposite, I really liked and connected with Gwen because she reminds me of me and my friends in the 90s, we were super into music and I recognized every poster on Gwens bedroom walls and the song she introduced to Leia was by a band called The Muffs, who I adored then and still do (RIP Kim). Ozzy on the other hand I found extremely irritating and a cheap Fez replacement but a horrendous unfunny version. Also the guy in episode 6 is Brian Austin Green from a 90s show called Beverly Hills 90210, which is what they were referencing lol.
