"only needed four shield changes" I think what might have happened is that the game counted "no shield" as a shield state, so the first shield obtained in that minigame counted as a shield change.

I think the "Level select blocks achievements" means you can't get others while the level select menu is available Probably because it's where you access debug mode which would make it way too easy for the other achievements

Well let me say a thing first i am playing on android and those special stages are much better than original and even original versions are not so bad,you only need to get remember a few things and you are good again i always abuse save and exit to get all emeralds on the first of the game or i play on an emulator with save states and there are enough checkpoints to do them early As for sonc 3 special stages (in my opinion)they are really bad,heck even the sonic 1 special stages aren't so bad comparing to them While i newer have gotten all emeralds and i tried (a lot) But alas sonic 3 is not the game of my childhood and i just don't like it as much as it prequel

Fun Fact about the Sonic 2 Special Stages: You can complete all of them in Emerald Hill Act 1 if you're playing on Sonic Origins.

I was on a couple of the streams, and i had fun watching u suffer. All jokes aside, i really had fun watching u play a game that i started playing AND finishing in a few days. I actualy really like your content, its really original and sometimes funny. I just wish that people would see your content more. It’s pretty bad how you suffered a little playing this game… I mean, when I first played Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Kunckles, I wanted to play as Kunckles. But I only did one Chaos Emerald since I’m a certified Classic Sonic Simulator player. I had to stop at Marble Garden Zone (Act 1) since I was stuck and can’t control the spiny things. So I delete my save file and started a Sonic & Tails playthrough. Everything went good so far, I got all the Chaos Emeralds at Carnival Night Zone. But until Mushroom Hill Zone (Act 2)… I had to suffer getting the Super Emeralds. And straight until Sandopoils Zone (Act 2)… I had to SUFFER 8 minutes, being crushed, annoyed by ghosts, and forced to push things. Then I deleted that save file and did it again until I got good. Everything went SUPER well. I got all the emeralds and finished Sandopoils Zone. But straight until the Death Egg Robot boss, I had to suffer again. But until that, I defeated him and beat the game. Two Fun Facts: I can get all the Chaos Emeralds before Marble Garden Zone, and all the Super Emeralds before Flying Battery.

I'm just telling you that this is not a game called Sonic 3 air and the achievement like there's this one that you can't let tails to touch in the water at launch bass Act 2 and there's this other one that you have to get I think 1 trillion or 1 million but you can add mods and you can change the settings and you can do time attack and you can beat the levels they already can like a basically at new stuff and it allows you to go on online and it's only from does Sonic 3 air get the game at a Wiki page one of that and I'm telling you those achievements already hard I'm just warning you but I want you to play it to have fun okay

I liked this set, well, maybe except for having to moonwalk the first special stage. That almost prevented me from trying to master it. I mastered normal Sonic 3 before Sonic 3 & Knuckles. (Then did Sonic & Knuckles about a year later.)

One of my proudest achievements was steadily getting good at them back in the day. 14:44 I've been killed like that in another part of the level (that ALSO had one of those crushers). Ok, so I went and checked it because I knew it wasn't 100% consistent because I've never even heard of it before, that physics issue in the Desert Palace loop only happens if you change from a running state to a rolling state at a certain point in the loop. Without doing that, I can't make it happen at all, and even then, it's fairly specific when you have to press down for it to happen. If you don't press down at all, and just run through the loop instead, beating the time of 40'00"00 is fairly easy, with the only other jank (of the slope nuking your speed depending on how you land on it) being possible to mitigate by running slightly on to the slope (enough to go behind the foreground pillar) and then jumping over the rest of it.

"Sonic 3 cheevs" Oh nice! "Knuckles section" Oh. Bit of a clarification here: Sonic 3 has cheevs, S&K has cheevs, and the combined S3&K has cheevs. It would seem that this is _only_ the S3&K set. Though, if you really want to be pedantic, there's also Sonic 3 Complete cheevs and Sonic 3 AIR cheevs, which are also playthroughs of S3&K... not to mention Sonic 40mb Delta, which is a playthrough of the entire trilogy plus scrapped zones in one shot. That's a lot of OG trilogy, and I'm nowhere near done with all that myself! Of course, the last one also has a Bonus subset that is essentially "Revenge of the Deathless", where every Zone has damageless cheevs and every character has deathless cheevs (remember, this is ALL OF THE GAMES back to back plus interest!).

So about the Keep your Marbles achievement, why didn't you just do that on a different save where you wouldn't need to worry about Super/Hyper. Just complete Angel Island & Hydrocity then reset with Marble Garden until it's done.
