Nothing better then spending Christmas time with the virus, hello blue screen!
@PepeFrog4133 жыл бұрын
I used to get a dell desktop/laptop for Christmas, and by the next November I’d end up with a blue screen of death, which would work out perfect cuz I’d just get a new one for that next Christmas. I now have 6 laptops, 4 desktops plus 3 I’ve given up on. I had a computer savvy cousin fix every single one of them and they all now run perfectly. Some have XP, some have windows 10, but the ones that had Vista integrated into them got chucked. Wish I kept them and just changed the software lol but honestly alll this time I wish I just bought a MacBook just to avoid alll the blue screens of death + the clutter. Had the red ring of death issue on 4 Xbox 360’s, but thankfully, Microsoft would have me send my Xbox in and either fix it or send me a refurbished version lol either way felt like I kept getting new ones. It’s sad that us middle class citizens can’t own a PS5, even after over a year after it’s release, unless you’re willing to take the risk of spending $1k, in hopes it’s not gonna be some asshole on some marketplace who sends you a cinder block inside a ps5 box. Considering all that, you would think the newest Xbox would’ve thrived in this country with sales. I’ve heard from some sources that Ps5’s are easier to obtain in places like Puerto Rico. This true? Thanks for reading my completely useless, pointless comment lol

How possible would it be muta, to make a virus that can escape a VM and attack a hypervisor? As in something purpose built specifically to attack you. I have nowhere near the knowledge required, and the people who do would rather go after attacking more than the dozen people who use computers like you, but I think it would be interesting to see you unplug your actual drives, insert a fresh one, get the hypervisor setup with a vm, and demonstrate a piece of malware actually breaching containment

A VM escape would be one of the worst exploits, on the level of Log4Shell or even worse. Someone could try to fuzz Qemu or the KVM to find a vuln, but I highly doubt one exists.
@SteamSigun3 жыл бұрын
idk if/how it'd be possible as in 'specifically aimed at vm' scenario, but it could slip as a human mistake. (not tried it, so anyone correct me if I'm wrong) perhaps there could be a virus disguised and/or attached to sth legit and in this scenario you can transfer files via folder in both hypervisor and vm. or have usb drive that you usually use for vm stuff, but this time you forgot it and used it for hypervisor. so idk, these are not necessarily vm aimed, just would work under certain conditions
