This sounds like something that would happen to me. I always get locked into places randomly. The first day of college, the doorknob of the bathroom in my dorm, BROKE off in my hand. I was like, seriously??? The professor would never believe my story of getting stuck in the bathroom...there was another girl in there too and she freaked out. Luckily, I could put the handle back in and use it. I was laughing though. I had to tell the manager of the building. First day of classes....I'll never forget it....

Same thing happened to me a few weeks back. Got locked inside the house by my housemate who was already on her way to work. The broken knob can only be lock/unlock from the outside. What's worst was my car breaking down the same day, and I was already late for work! Thank goodness my supervisor was understanding and let me take the day off to settle things. Took the opportunity to listen to "They Both Die at the End" by Adam Silvera, and received weird stares at the workshop with my sobbing 😂

Oh, wow. In the U.S. (or at least everywhere I've been), if a door is locked, you can still open it from the inside, and I had assumed that that was the norm, for the last few decades.
@alyssia72392 жыл бұрын
It is probably a safety norm now for new buildings or renovated ones (you need to be able to get out in case of emergencies) but I have had doors that had the keyhole on both sides, which means that if someone closes the door from either side with the key, you need the key to open it
@sillyslicker12 жыл бұрын
@@alyssia7239 That would just make me so nervous 😬
@yowo61052 жыл бұрын
Here in Europe (at least where I've lived), closing the front door will close it from the outside but you can still open it from the inside, then when you actively lock the door as well, it can't be opened from either side because this lock pin just goes through a hole in the doorpost. As far as I'm aware, both new and old doors have this system
